My Whole Theology

In her recent article, Resurrection: The Reason for the Season, Batya emphasized the central role that Messiah Yeshua’s resurrection plays in our eternal destiny. My personal faith rests on the fact that, through Him, the Father, in His great mercy, “has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Messiah Yeshua from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3).

I call this all-important truth, my “Whole Theology.”

Resurrection. Getting out of a hole in the ground. That is what the “whole thing is about.” (See below for my “Whole Theology” on a Postcard.)

Shalom b’Yeshua,
Angus

    Reason for the Season: Resurrection

I have had much time by myself as I recover from the cancer that has ravaged my body for almost a year now. Time to reflect on the important things, i.e., like getting ready for His coming which we all hope will be soon! Meantime, I have started to think of the two people who have helped me most during this difficult season, my Baptist neighbors who live next door. They have called regularly to find out how I am doing, brought meals to me, taken me to appointments, done errands for me that I was not capable of doing; all summer long they mowed and taken care of my grass; in the winter time; I could always count on them to have my sidewalk and driveway shoveled. I could not begin to list all they have done for me. I saw their faith by their lifestyle; caring, loving people always ready to help. I have attended their church services a few times, allowing them to pray for me and receiving the laying on of hands. I went to a Beth Moore Bible Study on the Book of James with these people. Now I am in a Senior’s Bible Study on the book of Mark. The Senior’s Pastor calls on me for my comments encouraging the Hebrew roots side of things. I feel loved and missed when I am not able to attend.

Who knows on Resurrection Sunday, you just might find ol’ Harry and Elizabeth at the Baptist Church in Loveland celebrating with my friends that HE IS RISEN INDEED!

    Hag Sameach,

    Elizabeth

Thank you Angus for your thoughts!

Dear Elizabeth praying that the Lord will continue to grant His love that only the fellowishp with His children can provide… When we have a relationship (Agada) like Yeshua did, showing with actions our love for others, it does not matter if they call themselves Baptist or any other denomination name…And the Lord may use you to integrate the walk as Yeshua walked (Halaka) as He followed the rules left clearly in His Word …

      Praying for your recovery.

    • Batya says:

      Dear Precious Elizabeth,
Your story says so much with so few words. There are many kind people in Churches who could teach all of us a lot about how to walk as Messiah walked. Surely your kind neighbors are among them.
Elizabeth, you are a precious lady and you are always in my prayers.
As someone who has fortunately survived breast cancer (caught in its very early stages), I want to share something to you.
My battle changed me. It caused me to refocus, and to take a fresh look at things I was taught as a child, at things that I learned as a young woman.
It caused me to look again at my Messiah, how He cared for and loved people, and healed them. Sadly, I think much of the Messianic movement has missed that aspect of the Messiah, yet, when it comes down to it, those things are the most important.
Maybe, just maybe, my friend, you have been given this test so you can teach us about the loving and caring side of the Messiah.
Thank you so much for sharing here.
      Please come back often.
      Much Love,
      Batya
