Palestinian UN Status Upgrade! A Wake Up Call for All Israel!

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas
Addresses the U.N. November 29, 2012

By Dennis Northington

The United Nations General Assembly has overwhelmingly endorsed a Palestinian Authority bid to upgrade its status to a “non-member observer state”. The Palestinians sought the upgrade, despite stiff opposition and possible negative repercussions from Israel and the United States.

Palestinians are seeking non-member observer state status They currently have non-member observer entity status. The upgraded status would allow them to participate in General Assembly debates, and they could apply to join the International Criminal Court and other U.N. agencies.

One hundred thirty-eight countries voted in favor of elevating the Palestinian Authority’s status – well beyond the simple majority of the 193-member states that was required. There also were 41 abstentions and nine “no” votes, which included the United States, Israel and Canada.

Speaking just ahead of Thursday’s vote, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas urged the General Assembly to “issue a birth certificate” for the state of Palestine by member states supporting their bid.

The vote was taken exactly 65 years to the very day after the U.N. General Assembly voted to recognize the Jewish state as a Plan of Partition with Economic Union on November 29, 1947.

Two years later, a full lunar eclipse fell on April 13, 1949 on the Feast of Passover and again on Tabernacles October 7, 1949. The Feast Day eclipse pattern repeated again in 1950 on Passover April 2, 1950 and on the first day of Tabernacles, September 26, 1950.

The 1949 lunar eclipse days were bisected by “The Law of Return” (ha-shvt – Item 5710-1950) which was enacted by Israeli parliamentary legislation on July 5, 1950 providing a decree for the return of “Jewish people” to the Promised Land.

After the Six Day War in 1967, Israel took control of Jerusalem and Temple Mount. Again at this time, a group of four Passover-Tabernacles Feast Day eclipses occurred. They were:

• 1967 April 24 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Passover.
• 1967 October 18 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Tabernacles.
• 1968 April 13 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Passover.
• 1968 Oct. 6 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Tabernacles.

Two years from today, we will see the Heavenly pattern repeat again on the coming Passover Day of April 15, 2014 and again on the Day of Tabernacles, October 8, 2014 when we will see the moon go dark on these two key Feast Days of YHVH.

The following year, the Spring and Fall Feast Day total eclipses will will repeat on Passover April 4, 2015 and on Tabernacles September 28, 2015 much like a second witness.

One thing we do know, history tells us that conflict raged in Israel near the timeframes of the previous Feast Day eclipse pattern and great victory was received by Israel.

Will this step by the UN set the stage for a war that no one wants, but which is already written in the pages of our prophets of old?

“Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near, let them come up. Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ “Assemble and come, all you nations, and gather together all around. Cause Your mighty ones to go down there (the Valley of Jahosephat), O YHVH”. (Joel 3:9-11)

“For YHVH of hosts will visit His flock, the house of Judah, and will make them as His royal horse in the battle. From him… the battle bow… they shall be like mighty men, who tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle. They shall fight because YHVH is with them… Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as if with wine” (Zechariah 10:3-5; 7)

“For I have bent Judah, My bow, fitted the bow with Ephraim, and made you like the sword of a mighty man.” Then YHVH will be seen over them, and His arrow will go forth like lightning. YHVH Elohim will blow the trumpet, and go with whirlwinds from the south” (Zechariah 9:13-14)

“They (Judah and Ephraim) shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west; together they shall plunder the people of the East; they shall lay their hand on Edom and Moab; and the people of Ammon shall obey them. (Isaiah 11:14)

“When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, [even] in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice (For the LORD thy God [is] a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.” (Deuteronomy 4:30-31)

In light of these prophecies, and with tension and conflict looming in the Mideast from the Islamic Awakening, I believe that we should consider we may very well see 40 Jubilees mark an end to the exile of Ephraim/Joseph and another decree to enter the land.

We might consider that 2014-2015 may very well tie to the end days of Ephraim’s punishment period and perhaps a Jubilee change in the law of Aliyah. We might also consider God’s own Jubilee definition given to Moses for the Jubilee Year (the trumpet year), the “year of return” as seen in Leviticus 25:13. ‘In this Year of Jubilee everyone is to return…’ The Jubilee is also a Sabbath year (shmita Hebrew: שמיטה, literally “release”).

Further, we might consider it important that 2015 may very well mark the 40th Jubilee year since Messiah’s ministry.

Could these 40 Jubilee years since Messiah Yeshua’s ministry mark 40 Jubilee years that God’s people are to ‘eat manna’, (meaning study and learn about Him) while scattered in the wilderness of planet earth after He ascended in Glory?

Forty is very important on God’s calendar.

Abraham arrived 40 Jubilees after Adam. Yeshua arrived 40 Jubilees after Abraham. And now the 40th Jubilee after Messiah’s teaching is right before us. To top it off we may also be converging on the precipice of the 70th Jubilee celebration since Israel entered the land some 3,500 years ago and the 70th Feast of Weeks since the U.N. declared Judah’s state leading to re-entering the Land of Promise and it just so happens the 50th year, the Biblical year of Jubilee, since the 1967 restoration of Jerusalem will occur in this timeframe.

Update September 26,2014: One News Page reports…. At the U.N. today, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel of genocide and he demanded a deadline to end Israeli “occupation” of the West Bank

“In a speech at the U.N. General Assembly Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel on Friday of conducting a “war of genocide” during the 50-day summer conflict in Gaza but stopped short of saying he will pursue war crime charges against the Jewish state at the International Criminal Court. Abbas said, “This last war against Gaza was a series of absolute war crimes carried out before the eyes and ears of the entire world, moment by moment.”

He continued, saying the devastation unleashed “is unmatched in modern times.” Abbas also said he will seek a U.N. resolution to set a deadline for Israel to pull out of Palestinian lands captured in the 1967 war but did not include a three-year deadline as his aides had said he would. The recent Gaza war killed 2,100 Palestinians and has weakened Abbas domestically, with his Hamas rivals enjoying a surge of popularity among Palestinians for fighting Israel. Sixty-six soldiers and six civilians were killed on the Israeli side.

PRAYER ALERT December 19, 2012: RAMALLAH, West Bank, Dec. 19 (UPI) — “Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has asked the United Nations to help bring Palestinian refugees from Syria to the West Bank and Gaza.

Abbas asked U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to intervene in the matter, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa said Wednesday.

“Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the state of Palestine, requested Wednesday that U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the international community enable our people in Syria to enter Palestinian territory,” Wafa said.

The agency estimates some 450,000 Palestinian refugees live in 10 camps in Syria, some of which have been attacked in recent days.”

As noted above, the U.N. resolution for a Palestinian state occured exactly 65 years after the U.N. resolution for a Jewish state. The prophet Daniel records the words of Gabriel regarding 70 weeks and tells us they include 62 weeks. So, out of curosity, just what was happening around the 62nd Feast of Weeks (Shavuot May 29, 2009) since U.N. Resolution 181 in 1947?

    1) On Holocaust Day, April 21, 2009, the 12th day of counting the Omer to the Feast of Weeks following Passover, President Obama met with King Abdullah II of Jordan. Obama stated: “We also discussed the situation with respect to Israel and the Palestinian conflict. And we both share the view that despite the many changes, or perhaps because of the many changes that are taking place in the region, it’s more vital than ever that both Israelis and Palestinians find a way to get back to the table and begin negotiating a process whereby they can create two states that are living side by side in peace and security.” Other comments at

    2) On May 18, 2009, on day 33 of the Omer count to the Feast of Weeks, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met President Barack Obama at the White House, where they discussed the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and Israel’s settlements in the West Bank. While Obama said that a two state solution is a priority, Netanyahu refused to support the creation of a Palestinian Arab state. Netanyahu said Israel has the right to continue settlements, whereas Obama called for settlement growth to be frozen. Comments are at

    3) On day 49 of the Omer count to the 62nd Feast of Weeks since Resolution 181, President Obama held a one-on-one meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in the Oval Office on May 28, 2009. This meeting was closed press. After the meeting President Obama announced to the press:

“Hello, everybody. Well, it is a great pleasure to welcome President Abbas to the Oval Office. We had — we just completed an extensive conversation, both privately as well as with our delegations, about how we can advance peace in the Middle East and how we can reaffirm some core principles that I think can result in Palestinians and Israelis living side by side in peace and security.

As I’ve said before, I’ve been a strong believer in a two-state solution that would provide the Israelis and Palestinians the peace and security that they need. I am very appreciative that President Abbas shares that view. And when Prime Minister Netanyahu was here last week I reiterated to him that the framework that’s been provided by the road map is one that can advance the interests of Israel, can advance the interests of the Palestinian people, and can also advance the interests of the United States.

We are a stalwart ally of Israel and it is in our interests to assure that Israel is safe and secure. It is our belief that the best way to achieve that is to create the conditions on the ground and set the stage for a Palestinian state as well. And so what I told Prime Minister Netanyahu was is that each party has obligations under the road map. On the Israeli side those obligations include stopping settlements. They include making sure that there is a viable potential Palestinian state. On the Palestinian side it’s going to be important and necessary to continue to take the security steps on the West Bank that President Abbas has already begun to take, working with General Dayton. We’ve seen great progress in terms of security in the West Bank. Those security steps need to continue because Israel has to have some confidence that security in the West Bank is in place in order for us to advance this process.”
