Amazing Facts About Linen

Some time ago at an MIA Conference a vendor named “Kingdom Paths” was offering organic linen items along with literature on the benefits of wearing it.

I felt led to purchase some of their socks for my husband, Angus. His feet had been continually swelling for years and we could not figure out why the problem kept getting worse. Then, after wearing their linen socks for a month Angus dropped a whole shoe size and his swelling problem disappeared. With that, I became a fan of linen.

Recently, someone tagged me in a message about linen properties and benefits. While I do not know a lot about purported “linen facts,” I do feel that I have seen its benefits first hand, so, I reposted the article that was sent to me on my Facebook page.

With permission from the author, Rodney Pere’rah, I would now like to share his article here, along with some other recommendations and comments that came out of my Facebook discussion.

If the information blesses you, or if you have something more to share on the subject please drop me a note.

My recommendations are listed at the end of the article.

The Most Amazing Facts About Linen
by Rodney Pere’rah

Linen is the strongest of all the vegetable fibers, with 2 to 3 times the strength of cotton. It is lint free and gets softer the more it is washed. It can gain up to 20% moisture without feeling damp. It resists dirt and stains and is strong and durable. When the Tutankhamen’s tomb was opened, the ancient linen curtains were found fully intact.

Flax is an annual of the family Linaceae. There are over 200 varieties of flax plants that, depending on the regional conditions and climate. Flax blooms in clusters of five petaled flowers that open up at dawn and close and fall at around noon when heat sets in. Each flower blooms for only a few hours.

The various colors that flax are found in are blue, violet, scarlet and white flowers

Researchers found that one will fall asleep faster, sleep deeper, and wake up in a better mood after sleeping in and on linen! Linen actually helps repair the body by harmonizing with the cells.

No fabric can out-perform linen in natural strength, luster and durability.
Ancient healing secrets revealed in the Holy Scriptures instruct that this fabric is considered Holy attire and part of the sanctification path.

Linen is an ideal fabric not only for attire; but for your table at every meal as a ‘high energy’ tablecloth and napkin.

Flax fabric is an excellent filter protecting against chemical exposure, noise and dust.

Linen clothing reduces solar gamma radiation by almost half, thereby protecting humans wearing linen. It has been found that flax fibers retrieved from radioactive soils appear to be totally resistant to radiation.

Linen is the strongest of the vegetable fiber’s, being 2 or 3 times stronger than cotton, with the added bonus of not shrinking or creating lint like cotton does! Linen fabric is highly durable and long-lasting.

Nobel prize winning Dr. Otto Heinrich Warburg identified signature frequency numbers of the average human at 70-90. All results with numbers less than 50 were identified as the signature frequency of chronic disease. Any number less than a 15 frequency was identified with those having been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, such as cancer.

Atomic Frequency Signature of Linen

The atomic frequency measurement of linen fabric measures 5,000.

The frequency of wool measures 5,000. The frequency of cotton measures 40 & organic unbleached cotton measures 100, which are not healing materials, but they don’t harm the health. Silk fabric only measures 10 units of energy, which would fail to support health in the human body. Rayon (wood & bamboo fiber) measures at a 15 signature frequency. Plastic materials such as polyester, acrylic, spandex, lycra, viscose and nylon measure zero.

If you want to maintain health & heal your body, it is recommended to wear wool or linen. Be aware of the Biblical warning of wearing wool and linen together, which scientific studies have proven to be accurate: the energy of these two fabrics worn together collapsed the electrical field.

Deut 22:11  -  You shall not wear a garment of mixed sorts, as of wool and linen together.

While the two textiles both measure 5,000 signature frequencies individually, when put together, they cancelled each other out, and – in some cases – brought measurable weakness and even pain to sensitive persons.

Linen’s Health Benefits

When wearing 100% linen, many individuals have testified that their healing was rapid. Post injury or surgical pain was substantially reduced (without the use of prescription or over the counter drugs) when using linen bandages and wearing linen clothing.

Linen underwear heightens positive emotions as well as possessing rare bacteriological properties. Resistant to fungus and bacteria, flax is found to be an effective barrier to some diseases. According to Japanese researchers, studies have shown that bed-ridden patients do not develop bedsores where linen bed sheets are used. Wearing linen clothes helps to decrease some skin diseases – from common rash to chronic eczemas.

Linen is highly “hydroscopic” meaning it rapidly absorbs and gives up moisture. Adsorbing water as quickly as a pond surface, before giving a feeling of being wet, linen cloth can absorb as much as 20% of its dry weight. This explains why linen cloth always feels fresh and cool.

Linen does not cause allergic reactions and is helpful in treating a number of allergic disorders. Linen is effective in dealing with inflammatory conditions, reducing fever, and providing a healthy air exchange. Some neurological ailments benefit from the use of linen clothing.

Linen cloth does not accumulate static electricity – even a small addition of flax fibers (up to 10%) to a cloth is enough to eliminate the static electricity effect.

Linen possesses high air permeability and heat show the skin temperature 3°-4°C below that of their silk or cotton-wearing friends. According to some studies, a person wearing linen clothes perspires 1.5 times less than when dressed in cotton clothes and twice less than when dressed in viscose clothes. Meanwhile in cold weather linen is an ideal warmth-keeper. Silica present in the flax fiber protects linen against rotting – the preserved mummies of Egyptian Pharaohs were wrapped in the finest linen cloth.

Linen rejects dirt and does not get a furry texture; linen and linen-containing articles are easily laundered in hot water, may be boiled and dried in the sun, besides they may be hot-ironed thereby ensuring maximum sterilization; Linen provides a sensation of gentle, natural relief. Linen’s smooth surface and matte luster appears beautiful and feels pleasant to the touch. The more linen is washed, the softer and smoother it becomes.

Miscellaneous Benefits

Linen provides an excellent filter protection against noise, chemical exposure and dust. Sleeping on sheets of linen can also provide a better night’s sleep, absorb moisture, and is more durable than cotton bedding.

Flax thread appears to be the only natural material utilized for internal sutures in a surgical setting.

Symbology of Linen

The linen from which the clothing was made was symbolic of righteousness-and ascribed righteousness at that. Linen was made from flax, which grew up out of the ground-a picture of God’s miraculous provision. It is a fabric that “breathes”, making it not only comfortable to wear, but also an apt metaphor for receiving the Spirit of YHWH, since the Hebrew word for spirit, Ruach Ha’Kodesh, also means The Set-Apart Inspiration (of breath).

The corresponding opposite “fabric metaphor” would be wool, which symbolizes labor and sacrifice and not surprisingly, is said to make the wearer perspire and irritates the skin slightly. The comparison is spelled out plainly in Yahweh’s instructions for the priestly wardrobe in the Millennial Temple.

“And it shall be, whenever they [the priests] enter the gates of the inner court, that they shall put on linen garments; no wool shall come upon them while they minister within the gates of the inner court or within the Temple. They shall have linen turbans on their heads and linen trousers on their bodies; they shall not clothe themselves with anything that causes sweat” (Ezekiel 44:17-18).

One lady sent me the following note:

I have worn linen exclusively, day and night for at least two years. Recently, I wore cotton for an afternoon and felt as if I had the life sucked out of me. When I started wearing linen, I noticed a decrease in pain and an increase in energy. (I have an old back injury that makes my legs go numb. Two days after I started wearing linen, I realized I could feel my legs and they weren’t painful.) I have purchased linen sheets on Ebay. I get almost all my linen clothing from thrift stores and Ebay. and for those who are handy, you can buy a bolt of 20 yards of linen online for about $100 with which you can make your own sheets, duvet, pillow cases, etc.

A gentleman responded to my post with the following:

Linen has many good qualities. Yah requires his priests to wear this fabric while ministering, and that is good enough for me. Please leave out the New Age Pseudo-science stuff about frequencies; it discredits the other good information.

End Quotes.

Again, please let me know if this blesses you, or if you have a testimony or more information to share. I am truly interested in learning more about the benefits of linen.

Ezekiel 44:17-18 is a good clarifying verse regarding the wearing of wool & linen together. I had always believed Deut 22:11 addressed only the weaving of the 2 fibers together, not the layering of garments.

  2. Shelley Browne Cad says:

Fascinating! Thank you so much, those who have taken the time to shed light on this biblical mystery. I’ve been reading the biblical injunctions my whole life, yet am very very new at actually learning to implement many of them. This has been very helpful.

  3. Carmel says:

    Dear Batya,

Thank you for sharing this information and your experience with linen. We are constantly amazed at the testimonials and responses that we receive. Our Father is indeed the Provider of everything good in our lives and it is remarkable to see how His “restoration of all things” leads to life and life abundantly – as one would expect.

In fact, we are now making bed rolls for travelers so they can take the health benefits of their linen sheets with them when they are on the road. We know people are also considering them for comfort and health when camping and for “Go” bags. This last Sukkot we learned that you can stay comfortably warm in linen even when it is damp. Certainly that is not the case with polyester or cotton. Since none of us know what lies ahead, the bed rolls are a convenient transportable blessing.

Many Blessings to you and Angus for your work and your servants’ hearts. May the Holy One continue to give you strength and breath to proclaim His ways.

    Added thoughts:

We have increasing amounts of historical information on the linen; at one time armor was made of layers of linen, bonded by glue from rabbit skins and flaxseeds*. Who Knew? *Thank you Cooper Rousell

Much of our information today is by our own experiences. So.. we collect stories.

    Here is one:

Recently when on a camping trip in a cold and wet climate, I washed a piece of my linen sleepwear and laid it on my sleeping bag hoping it would dry during the day. When I returned to get ready for bed; it was still wet, not dripping, but wet. It was only one of the pieces I slept in but I took a chance and put it on anyway and got into my sleeping bag which had a Wholesome Vibrations linen bed roll inside it. I was warm in minutes and slept like a baby, or… as well as one would sleep on a cot that is ALMOST level. LOL

I wore linen shirts the whole trip and while they seemed wet when I put them on in the morning , I was warm in just a minute or two. I did wear layers of linen but needed no coat – which is sooooo unlike me.

Cotton is called “death cloth” and not recommended for emergency wear because if it gets wet, it will transfer the moisture toward your body. Linen acts in the reverse. It warms from your body and wicks the dampness away. Had I worn cotton I would have been colder by being wet.

  4. Julie Sagissor says:

I wrote Batya last week to offer some resources in which claims about frequency are backed up by hard science. I am always sad when I hear Yeshua’s people dismiss certain topics as “witchcraft” simply because they do not understand them. I remember many years ago I was just certain that a chiropractor I knew was dabbling in the occult because he used the science of human electrical fields to help his patients get well. I knew nothing about the science he was using, but it didn’t fit my dogmatic idea of what therapeutic medicine should look like — I was judgmental on a topic about which I was totally ignorant! I thank Yeshua that in His kind and gentle way He single-handedly delivered me from my deception and humbled me to understand that it is not honorable for me to draw conclusions based on assumptions and innuendos. If we don’t know much about something, it is good for us to ask questions and figure out where we stand on an issue. Better to have all the facts in hand and then decide yay or nay. I love what Batya said: “do we simple people fully know the Father’s truths in a matter?” Perhaps not yet, at this moment, but that doesn’t mean He won’t share in much greater detail the answers we are currently missing. (Proverbs 20:5) I love that about Him!

Dennis, thanks for adding to the discussion. I enjoyed what you shared about the electromagnetic spectrum, though not all frequencies which are not invisible are harmful. Infrared is actually quite therapeutic in removing poisons from the body.

Ted, I likewise appreciate your desire to see Yeshua’s people protected from deception. That was also what motivated me to feel the way I did about the chiropractor above. It sounds like you might like to learn a little more about the actual science of frequencies, in order to understand that the concept of ‘frequency’ is not new age occultism, though the terms used in this science have been hijacked by occult mystics who fiddle with crystals and plan to ascend to their ‘higher selves’ when lucifer takes his throne. Pushing beyond the obvious fact that even occultists can take advantage of foundational Biblical truths then twist them until they bear little resemblance to their origin (Matthew 4:3 and 4:6 come to mind), here are a few tidbits from just one of the hard-science books I have read on the topic of frequencies.

Though Dr. David Stewart wrote the book “The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple: God’s Love Manifest in Molecules” about essential oils (the aromatic herbal oils that are extracted from a plant by steam distillation), his assertions hold true for all living plants and animals, including flax. Dr. Stewart writes “Electromagnetic frequencies are measured in units of cycles-per-second (cps) which are called Hertz. There are a variety of sources of vibrational frequencies within the molecules of essential oils. In fact, there is a whole spectrum of frequencies within every organic molecule and the larger, more complex it is, the greater the spectrum.” (pp. 177) He explains, “Electrons are normally wedded to a particular atom and do not easily escape. They just keep spinning around and around the same nucleus.” When atoms are bonded together in a certain way, “they become ‘delocalized.’ That is, they are no longer confined to the orbits of a single atom. They can now roam all over” the molecule. “Non-localized electrons are ‘shared’ with other atoms of the molecule. In their new-found freedom, they zip around the ring [molecule], visiting the various homes of the neighborhood at megahertz frequencies (millions of times per second). This is one of the sources of electromagnetic frequencies that has been measured in association with therapeutic-grade essential oils. The additional energy carried by the electrons dashing around the molecule (as compared to that they had when tied to a single atom) is called the resonance energy of the molecule. In this state the concept of particles (electrons, protons, and neutrons) composing matter no longer makes sense. Instead we have an energy – a waveform.” (pp. 176-177) Brackets were added by me.

This is just a small sampling of the science behind electromagnetic frequencies, and there is nothing remotely occult about it. It’s just simply the sheer scientific wonder of an awesome creation crafted by a Messiah significantly wiser than we are. These frequencies are measurable by sophisticated technology currently available today. Ted, did you know there are medical diagnostic devices on the market today that diagnose specific infections, heavy metal poisonings, and chemical poisonings, as well as surplus or deficiency of vitamins and minerals, based on frequency alone? Using electrodes which are placed on the body, these devices compare the frequencies which the electrodes pick up to a database of pre-recorded frequencies scientifically linked to specific infections, conditions, and maladies.

There are also medical devices on the market today which heal by creating measurable electromagnetic (EM) fields, with pre-set programs which emit EM fields in the range of frequencies scientifically calibrated to correspond with the known frequency ranges of specific tissues and organs, like the heart, the liver, the connective tissue and such. This kind of technology is little-known here in the U.S. but is commonly used by champion athletes in Europe. (http://www.hippocampus-brt.com/v2/Devices_2_2.html) If human-made devices can do such things, why on earth would we suppose that a plant fiber too awesome to have been created by humankind could not also do such things? It is a great big electromagnetic world out there, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

    • Dennis Northington says:

Well said Julie. I was thinking of the infrared light the military uses in night rifle scopes when I noted that the invisible light wavelengths can be deadly… but you are very correct. No one would want to cook in a microwave without a door or get an X-Ray every day either but they are a blessing. Thank you!

  5. Ted,

I am not sure about the new age comments but this we do know: All molecules have frequency.

After all, they were spoken into existence by God, so they have different frequencies and “harmonies” based on their physical structure, chemical composition and molecular design. The famous work done on the Shroud of Turin was of course none other than frequency measurement, they call it “radio” carbon dating for a reason.

Interestingly, all natural fibers come from God’s voice which He spoke into life forms on His creation days three and six.

Of course, day three came before the sixth, I am thankful for that or we might be breathing carbon dioxide. Perhaps, we should consider too that 6 is the first common multiple of 3. They are intertwined. That has significance since simple renewable seed plants (like flax) create oxygen from carbon dioxide so that higher life forms (like us) may live.

We are linked together inseparable within that life cycle because on day six, God spoke into creation the complex motor neuron animals (wool) and creeping insects (silk) that breathe oxygen created from plants. It also just so happens, that plants obtain their source of life directly from light (photosynthesis). That means of course that their life source is obtained from the seven frequencies of visible light that God spoke into existence.

Mankind is different, God breathed His Spirit into Adam and so we have a soul and are separate from other life, yet there is harmony in God’s creation and it is a great blessing after all.

P.S. Here are some facts on God’s frequencies, they are integral in His creation.

Most know that the visible light used by plants is a small region of the sun’s electromagnetic wave particle spectrum known as “visible light”. Yes light is both a wave and a particle. This “visible light” corresponds to a wavelength range of 400 – 700 nanometers (nm). These are indeed very interesting numbers, much like the noted molecular frequency of flax linen and there is nothing new age about that, just proof positive of God’s creation voice. After all, light was created on the 4th day of creation week and God rested on the 7th and our creator Messiah Yeshua refers to Himself as the light of the world (John 8:12).

Just like a computer code, each Hebrew letter in Scripture has a numeric value. For Biblical proof – just look at the counting of the 22 stanzas of Psalms 119. The Gematria of the 22nd Hebrew letter, the Tav is four hundred. And Tav ת is the Hebrew letter which means “covenant”. It is graphically represented by a “cross” in the ancient Paleo Hebrew script. The value of the Hebrew “final” Nun ן is the number 700, which so happens to be the Hebrew letter that means “a continuation of new life”.

Surprised? “Visible light” corresponds to a wavelength range of 400-700 nano-meters synchronizing with the creation week and in the most literal meaning of the Hebrew letters Tav-Nun. We can know that light like “the covenant cross represents new life”. Is there any wonder why our Messiah is known as the light of the world?

Light consists of the entire electromagnetic spectrum including as you may have guessed it, seven (7) wavelengths: 1) gamma rays, 2) X rays, 3) ultraviolet radiation, 4) visible light 5) infrared radiation, 6) microwaves and 7) radio waves. The difference in these light forms is simply their wavelength, their life giving frequencies are the only in the visible light waves used by plants, the other wavelengths are all invisible and they can be deadly.

God is smarter than us and He is looking for a royal priesthood. He advises all priests to wear linen for a reason, one day He will tell us why but this we already know… all the Saints described in Revelation 19 are clothed in fine white linen. I pray no one wants to show up wearing a polyester suit!

Psalms 89:15 Blessed [is] the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

  6. Batya says:

    Ted,

Thank you for caring enough to warn everyone about possible deceptions regarding linen frequencies.

I do know where lies come from and want no part of them or talismans or charms of any sort— nor do I want to take part in leading anyone astray. Your point about “simple” truth is well taken, but, do we simple people fully know the Father’s truths in a matter?

I ask because I received a personal email in which the lady says the claims about the frequency of linen are backed up by science. I will investigate this point further and hopefully soon have links from her (and a post) that will help us search out the matter more fully.

In the meantime, let us ask the Father “to lead us not into temptation,” to not allow us to believe error, but to hear the truth from Him alone.

    Shalom, shalom,
    Batya

  7. Ted A Sames II says:

I do not have a lot of time so I will make it very quick: Regarding the linen article, I give a warning as this is strictly a New Age teaching and causes destruction within the Messianic Movement, Christianity and Judaism. These articles and understandings are for people with “itchy ears” as described in Scriptures….always looking for a new sensation and being lead into the wrong path. Linen does not give healing frequencies just as New Age crystals do not give healing. Don’t rely on the created but rely on the Creator for healing. Be aware of key chain talits lucky, lucky charms or healing coins….this might be in the realm of witchcraft and sorcery. The index that is given is not about healing frequencies but something far more simple: It has to do with light reflection. Again, mixing half-truths with Scriptures is a lie. You do know where lies come from? Ted A Sames II
