Periodic news updates and commentary are posted here as measuring lines to provide reminders for prayer as conflict arises in the nations that surround Jerusalem and as nations seek to divide the land.
For the LORD has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation. This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it. Psalm 132:13-14
For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning torch. Isaiah 62:1
We must pray for the Peace Of Jerusalem.
It is the center of the planet and the focus of all Scripture, conflict there impacts the world, so we must not lull in slumber. So, news updates and brief commentary will be updated here from time to time as a watchman for Prayer Alerts due to the “front page” prophetic implication of many of today’s headlines with an eye on these events through the lens of prophecy.
In reading Isaiah’s words below, we might consider the prophet is providing a second witness and warning about the peace agreement proposed by The Quartet of Nations insisting that the government of Israel adopt…
“Why hear the word of the LORD, you scoffers, that rule this people that is in Jerusalem: And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only [to] understand the report.” Isaiah 28:17-19
The message is even more telling if we just look into the Hebrew words: the word “vexation” is zĕva`ah, which means “object of terror”. The word “report” seen in the King James is actually shĕmuw`ah, it literally means “news”. The word “scourge” is the Hebrew word “showt”, it means judgment.
At Zechariah’s Patrol, we seek to “remember” those in Israel and those in the Middle East that are affected by these stories with a “sweet incense” offering of prayer. After all, Zechariah is from the Hebrew name זְכַרְיָה (Zekharyah) meaning “YAH remembers”.
If we just look and the news and consider history we can see that the pharaoh, well the dictator of Egypt has now fallen and we are feeling the seismic shocks shaking the statue of Nebuchadnezzar. Babylon or rather Iraq has fallen and is in great distress that increases each day. Syria is in anarchy and Iran is opposed by the everyone but Russia it seems as its supporter in a nuclear race linked with North Korea.
We must remember what Paul told the “lost sheep” that were found at Thessalonica, the second largest city in today’s financially distraught nation of Greece:
“While people are saying, “there is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come… So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.”
1 Thessalonians 5:1-6
Also consider this. With the fall of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, Syria is the world’s leading oppressive Ba’athist government and Damascus is the hub of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party. The al-Assad family, which has ruled since 1970, is Alawi Shiite, which is considered heretical by Syria’s majority Sunni population.
The largest of the religious groups in Syria are the Sunni Muslims. We should take note thought that the Twelver Shia sects of Syria are concentrated between Homs and Aleppo. Homs and its Baba Amr neighborhood is center stage to today’s revolutionary fighting. Journalists are prohibited from entering Syria, so the news in this area is from raw amateur video documenting explosions, gunfire and shouts of “Allahu Akbar”.
Notably, the Twelver faith, a counterfeit of the 12 Disciples, is in the majority in both Iran and Iraq. The belief they hold is that their Mahdi will be none other than the “returned” Twelfth Imam. “Twelvers” believe the Twelfth Imam is the 12th successor of Muhammad who is an infallible man that has been in hiding and will return to rule over the world as a messianic figure and they also believe that he will return with Christ as his Muslim aid to establish the final global governance of Islam.
Today’s conflicts in the Middle East and Syria are occurring at the same time as a European financial crisis and global opposition against Iran’s goal of nuclear power sounds apocalyptic, you are right it is because despite what certain prognosticator’s think or say, this is not a heroic battle between “the people” seeking democracy and another Dictator… this is an ancient, dark religious battle between Sunni and Shia. And in the end, whether the Oracle of Damascus describes the oldest city in the world being taken away by chemical toxins or other weapons of mass destruction, the bottom line is that it will affect you, your family and friends. The events you are witnessing are important and have great meaning as the words of the Bible are again proven true and unchanging. The prophecy of Damascus is thousands of years old, yet it is unfolding in your lifetime, right now before your eyes and ears. Don’t ignore it.
Unlike Isaiah’s prophecy that promises a wonderful outcome for Egypt in which God says Egypt will be a blessing after an evil ruler governs for a time in the end of days, the prophecy of Isaiah for Damascus is truly horrific.
The fulfillment of these ancient words appears likely to be right before us in the Syrian news reports that read as the words of Jeremiah… “her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD (YHVH) of hosts”. Today, Damascus is the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city, yet God’s word says it will be “a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow”.
Nonetheless, bad tidings should not be our only focus. Instead, we must follow Daniel in his prayer of confession. Study all the prayer of Daniel 9. It begins:
“And I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed and said, “Alas, O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and loving kindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly, and rebelled, even turning aside from thy commandments and ordinances.” Daniel 9:4-5
Daniel’s prayer is precisely what is required today in order to seek forgiveness from God’s mercy and grace so that we may be restored to begin walking in God’s instruction. That should be our focus because it is the teaching and instruction that the Bible gives to us from the front cover to the back:
“‘If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies— or if their uncircumcised heart becomes humbled so that they then make amends for their iniquity, then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land.’” Leviticus 26:40-42
“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” 1John 2:3-4
“And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.” 2John 1:6
“Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:12
At evening time, behold, terror! Before morning, they are no more! This is the portion of those who loot us, and the lot of those who plunder us. Isaiah 17:14
There are dark days ahead, days of terror but what does this all mean?
“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.” Matthew 24:6
And [as] the toes of the feet [were] part of iron, and part of clay, [so] the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Daniel 2:42-44
It’s time to get on our knees to pray and repent and to return now to the path and ways of God. It means that it is now time for you to return to God’s covenant, return to hear and do His word and walk in the faith of His Kingdom path filled with the Spirit so that you can ready your lamp for your coming assignment. God is a sovereign God. He has given us His Biblical prophets to warn in advance of these things. He is a loving God but a time of judgment is coming and He has provided a way to offer you His salvation. You can accept His gift of life. Consider carefully what your life consists of, look at it and repent of any sin, turn away from it and toward God as you ask His forgiveness and accept His gift of love and life through Messiah Yeshua.
Do it now!
UPDATE September 27, 2013: Using what appears to be a pun for the birth of a Palestinian State the Quartet has drawn a line in the sand for Israeli and Palestinian leaders to reach a peace plan deal within 9 months. This was declared the day after the Biblically appointed Shmini Atzeret, the 8th day following the seven days of Tabernacles.
Picking nine months would mean that by Pentecost (Shavuot) 2014, the peace and security agreement would be completed. The names of the pawns may have changed from the original Quartet, but the plan is the same. Divide Israel and Jerusalem and call it “peace and security”.
Ban Ki-moon (UN) meets with Quartet diplomats Catherine Ashton (EU), John Kerry (US) Sergey Lavrov (Russia) and Tony Blair
“The United Nations and its diplomatic partners in the search for peace in the Middle East today reaffirmed their determination to provide maximum support to the Israelis and the Palestinians as they resume talks aimed at reaching a comprehensive peace.
The Middle East Quartet – the diplomatic grouping bringing together the UN, the European Union, Russia and the United States – met at UN Headquarters in New York on the margins of the annual high-level debate of the General Assembly.
The meeting is the first time in one and a half years that the members of the Quartet have met at the level of principals and it follows the most recent round of direct talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians held last month.
“The Quartet reaffirmed its determination to lend effective support to the efforts of the parties and their shared commitment to reach a permanent status agreement within the agreed goal of nine months,” the group said in a statement.
It commended the leadership of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and their commitment to remaining engaged in sustained and continuous negotiations to address all of the core issues.
“The Quartet called on all parties to take every possible step to promote conditions conducive to the success of the negotiating process and to refrain from actions that undermine trust or prejudge final status issues.”
During the meeting, the Quartet received an update from US Secretary of State John Kerry on the progress in the talks since talks resumed on 29 July, as well as a joint briefing on the negotiations by the chief negotiators from both sides.
The group also discussed efforts to boost support to the Palestinian economy, as well as the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the importance of both sides demonstrating a commitment to improving the atmosphere for the negotiations.
The other principals participating in the meeting were UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union Catherine Ashton.
They were joined by Quartet Representative Tony Blair and by Israeli chief negotiator Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat.”
Can you relate to the Thessalonians?
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 1Thessalonians 5:1-6
UPDATE September 24, 2013: If you are a keen Bible student you will recognize the dangers in the words spoken today by Barak Hussein Obama during his United Nations address.
Below are some excerpts and five questions.
First notice, who does the current President speak for? Answer: himself.
“So let me take this opportunity to outline what has been U.S. policy toward the Middle East and North Africa and what will be my policy…”
Next, what drives his interest? Answer: oil.
“The United States of America is prepared to use all elements of our power, including military force, to secure our core interests in the region. We will confront external aggression against our allies and partners, as we did in the Gulf War.
We will ensure the free flow of energy from the region to the world.”
Third, what prophecy do the following words remind you of? Answer: 1 Thessalonians 5:3 says… “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
“In the near term, America’s diplomatic efforts will focus on two particular issues: Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons and the Arab- Israeli conflict. While these issues are not the cause of all the region’s problems, they have been a major source of instability for far too long, and resolving them can help serve as a foundation for a broader peace.”
“We are also determined the resolve a conflict that goes back even further than our differences with Iran, and that is the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis.
I’ve made it clear that the United States will never compromise our commitment to Israel’s security, nor our support for its existence as a Jewish state.”
Fourth, does he believe he is greater than the promise of God given to Abraham? Answer: He believes the land of Judea and Samaria is “occupied”.
“And I believe there’s a growing recognition within Israel that the occupation of the West Bank is tearing at the democratic fabric of the Jewish state.”
Fifth, what is his position on Jerusalem? Answer: He seeks to bring united nations out to determine its status as the Capital of Israel.
“So the time is now ripe for the entire international community to get behind the pursuit of peace. Already, Israeli and Palestinian leaders have demonstrated a willingness to take significant political risks. President Abbas has put aside efforts to shortcut the pursuit of peace and come to the negotiating table. Prime Minister Netanyahu has released Palestinian prisoners and reaffirmed his commitment to a Palestinian state. Current talks are focused on final status issues of borders and security, refugees and Jerusalem.”
Zechariah 12:1-3 has this to say:
“The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”
The prophet is quoting God Almighty, the Creator of Heaven, Earth and mankind who gives a promise:
“Thus says YHVH: ‘I will return to Zion, And dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, The Mountain of YHVH of hosts, The Holy Mountain.” Zechariah 8:3
UPDATE August 25, 2013: The Telegraph today says “Britain is planning to join forces with America and launch military action against Syria within days in response to the gas attack believed to have been carried out by President Bashar al-Assad’s forces against his own people.”
“Royal Navy vessels are being readied to take part in a possible series of cruise missile strikes, alongside the United States, as military commanders finalise a list of potential targets.
Government sources said talks between the Prime Minister and international leaders, including Barack Obama, would continue, but that any military action that was agreed could begin within the next week.
As the preparations gathered pace, William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, warned that the world could not stand by and allow the Assad regime to use chemical weapons against the Syrian people “with impunity”.
Britain, the US and their allies must show Mr. Assad that to perpetrate such an atrocity “is to cross a line and that the world will respond when that line is crossed”, he said.
British forces now look likely to be drawn into an intervention in the Syrian crisis after months of deliberation and international disagreement over how to respond to the bloody two-year civil war.
The possibility of such intervention will provoke demands for Parliament to be recalled this week.
The escalation comes as a direct response to what the Government is convinced was a gas attack perpetrated by Syrian forces on a civilian district of Damascus last Wednesday.”
So, what will happen if the cruise missiles inadvertently strike and release a cache of stored chemical weapons?
The Telegraph also reported… “Russia said that the West would be making a “tragic mistake” by launching military strikes on its ally Syria as the international community headed for a repeat of the bitter diplomatic showdowns that preceded military action in Iraq and Kosovo.”
“Moscow warned the West not to pre-empt the work of the United Nations inspection team that is due to investigate last week’s alleged chemical attack.
The Kremlin is certain to join China to block any attempts by Britain, France and America to secure UN backing for a military response to Syria’s alleged use of chemical weapons on its own people.
A Russian foreign ministry spokesman drew parallels with the US-led overthrow of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to justify its stance – a comparison rejected by Britain and America.”
And threats come out of Syria against Israel according to YnetNews…
Top member of Assad’s party warns ‘We have strategic weapons aimed at Israel.’ Russia objects to intervention, cautions against repeat of ‘past mistakes’
“A member of the Syrian Ba’ath national council Halef al-Muftah, until recently the Syrian propaganda minister’s aide, said on Monday that Damascus views Israel as “behind the aggression and therefore it will come under fire” should Syria be attacked by the United States.
In an interview for the American radio station Sawa in Arabic, President Bashar Assad’s fellow party member said: “We have strategic weapons and we can retaliate. Essentially, the strategic weapons are aimed at Israel.”
Al-Muftah stressed that the US’s threats will not influence the Syrain regime and added that “If the US or Israel err through aggression and exploit the chemical issue, the region will go up in endless flames, affecting not only the area’s security, but the world’s.”
Earlier this week the Syrian top official said that an attack of this kind will expand the circle of hostilities beyond Syria. According to him, it may bring about a world-war, the extent of which cannot be foretold.”
UPDATE August 16, 2013: God instructed Isaiah to tell us to pray for the Egyptians.
Please do that now as today has been marked as the “Friday of Anger” and the Egyptian Health Ministry reported violence in Egypt has now left at least 638 dead and nearly 4,000 injured. Today, he country has braced for Friday marches from mosques by Muslim Brotherhood supporters.
Yesterday, there were 3 churches burned in attacks, today 52. The sudden attacks on churches throughout Egypt is reminiscent of the Legions of Titus that attached Jerusalem some 1,943 years ago. Sarah Sirgany and Laura Smith-Spark from CNN report: ‘Horrible’: Christian churches across Egypt stormed, torched
“Kafr Hakim, Egypt (CNN) — For 67 years, the Virgin Mary Church has been a peaceful refuge for Shenouda El Sayeh, much like the Giza province village of Kafr Hakim where it rests and where he has lived all those years.
But, as he swept its floors on Thursday, it was painfully obvious things had changed.
The night before, a mob — chanting against Coptic Christians such as El Sayeh and calling for Egypt to become an “Islamic state” — had torched and looted the Virgin Mary Church.
“I didn’t expect this to happen,” El Sayeh said.
He’s not alone. Christians all around Egypt are cleaning up in the aftermath of a spate of attacks, which came on the country’s deadliest day since the 2011 revolution that overthrew longtime President Hosni Mubarak.
Bishop Angaelos, the Cairo-born head of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the United Kingdom, said he was told by colleagues in Egypt that 52 churches were attacked in a 24-hour span that started Wednesday, as well as numerous Christians’ homes and businesses.”
“The targeting of churches and Christian properties was not unexpected, Angaelos said, given the tensions in Cairo and elsewhere and in light of escalating attacks on Coptic Christians in recent weeks.
The growing threat led him last week to issue a statement warning of “a very real risk upon the life of every Christian.” Pope Tawadros II, the church’s leader in Egypt, also suspended weekly public events for fear of attacks on Christian congregations.
But the warnings didn’t prevent the violence, nor did security efforts to protect churches and Christian communities, according to Ibrahim.
Said Angaelos, “The ferocity and the speed with which it all happened … was quite surprising.””
“CNN iReporter Amir Beshay, from Cairo, helped draw up a list of Christian churches and properties reportedly targeted.”
“The situation has only become worse since Egypt’s popular revolution overthrew former President Hosni Mubarak in 2011, said Angaelos.
“In the past two-and-a-half years, we’ve had more deaths of people just because they are Christians than in the last 20 years,” he said, adding that this had not triggered violent retaliation.”
UPDATE August 15, 2013: Morsi supporters ‘torch three churches’ in Egypt
“AFP – Supporters of deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi torched three churches in central Egypt on Wednesday in reprisal attacks as police dispersed demonstrations in Cairo, reports said.
The assailants threw firebombs at Mar Gergiss church in Sohag, a city with a large community of Coptic Christians who comprise up to 10 percent of Egypt’s 84 million people, causing it to burn down, the official MENA news agency said.
Security officials told AFP that another two churches were attacked in El-Menia province, leaving them partially damaged by fire.”
‘We will not cower’: Muslim Brotherhood pledges fightback as Egypt death toll climbs to 525
“The health ministry announced Thursday that the death toll from subsequent clashes reached 525, with 3,572 others injured. Activists said the true death toll was much higher.”
UPDATE August 14, 2013: A state of emergency is declared in Egypt today. Fox News reports: Egypt’s Interim Vice President ElBaradei resigns while clashes across Egypt leave more than 270 dead
“In a resignation letter sent to Interim President Adly Mansour as the day’s death toll from clashes throughout Egypt mounted, ElBaradei cited “decisions I do not agree with” regarding the government’s crackdown on the political turmoil which began on July 3 with the ouster of former President Mohammed Morsi, Reuters reports.
“It has become difficult for me to continue bearing responsibility for decisions that I do not agree with and whose consequences I fear,” ElBaradei wrote. “I cannot bear the responsibility for one drop of blood.”
Egypt’s Health Ministry said 278 people were killed in violence on Wednesday throughout the country, including 235 civilians.
The casualties were mostly in Cairo where police in riot gear bulldozed two protest camps that had been the flashpoint of growing unrest. The state news agency MENA quoted a spokesman saying over 1,400 people were wounded, according to Reuters. Sky News cameraman Mick Deane and Gulf News reporter Habiba Ahmed Abd Elaziz were among the dead, which included 43 policemen.”
UPDATE July 31, 2013: With much duress in Egypt how about this vow and oblation of prayer and worship!! Inspire Magazine reports: Thousands of Christian children pray to become change-makers in Egypt
“In a country rocked by change and division, some 1,400 eight to fourteen-year-old Egyptian children last week gathered to worship and ask God to change them to be the salt and light for Jesus in their communities.
The first ever One Thing Kids festival was held at the desert oasis of Wadi El Natroun from 16-18 July and televised live by Christian broadcaster SAT-7.
“Our vision is to have this generation praying and worshipping God, and to be filled with the Holy Spirit to be able to change the world,” say festival organisers Kasr El Doubara Evangelical Church (KDEC) and the children’s prayer ministry of the Synod of the Nile of the Presbyterian Church.”
Isaiah 19:21-22 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform [it]. And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal [it]: and they shall return [even] to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.

PRAYER ALERT July 25, 2013 Israeli-Palestinian talks to begin next week, says minister
“Negotiators are expected to meet in Washington for first talks in almost three years
The first talks between Israeli and Palestinian negotiators for almost three years are scheduled to begin in Washington next Tuesday, according to an Israeli minister. The statement was not immediately confirmed by officials from either side.
Silvan Shalom, speaking after meeting the Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat in the West Bank city of Jericho, told reporters: “We hope that the talks between Israel and the Palestinians in Washington will begin next week, hopefully Tuesday. We want and are interested in moving forward in the negotiations.””
US secretary of state John Kerry calls agreement – announced after four months of diplomacy – ‘a significant step forward’
“The US is to host talks with Israel and Palestinian negotiators in the next week following a breakthrough in the drive to revive the moribund Middle East peace process
John Kerry, US secretary of state, called the move a “significant step forward”.
Details of the parameters for the talks were not disclosed by Kerry. At a press conference in Amman, Jordan – following a helicopter trip to Ramallah for a last-minute meeting with Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas – Kerry warned against “conjecture” and said both sides had agreed that only he would make further comment on the process.”

UPDATE July 21, 2013: Just when you thought nothing really happened this year on Tisha b’Av, a key member of the Quartet that seeks to divide Israel has moved against Israel with economic restrictions against the so-called settlements in the Golan Heights, The West Banks and East Jerusalem. According to Canada Free Press: European Union joins Obama in setting 1967 borders for Israel!
The EU has announced its new policy of boycotting Jews and Israelis living in areas gained in the 1967 six-day-war. This means that, beginning in 2014, contracts and agreements between the EU and Israeli businesses, institutions and individuals will no longer be recognized by EU courts if they are outside the pre-1967 borders. This includes Judea, Samaria, and most of Jerusalem.
Melanie Phillips, writing for the UK Daily Mail, sums it up perfectly in this excerpt displaying her brilliant cutting edge style:
“Consternation in Israel over the EU’s malicious decision to boycott individuals or institutions situated over the ‘Green Line’ between Israel and the disputed territories. This would presumably include boycotting, for example, the Hebrew University which is just over that line or, even more grotesquely, Jewish residents in Jerusalem’s Old City—where ancient Jewish settlement far predated the arrival of a single Arab, dating as it does since King David who built it as the capital of the kingdom of the Jewish people.
News of the EU’s act of existential spite against Israel broke on the fast of Tisha b’Av, when Jews mourn the destruction of the Temple (you know, that Temple, the one that stood in Jerusalem all those centuries ago before any Arabs existed, let alone any Green Line) along with the seemingly never-ending list down through the ages of all those prosecuting their uniquely murderous and baseless hatred of the Jewish people.
Some coincidence. To that list of infamy, the EU can now add its name. For shame.”
(Melanie Phillips, Daily Mail, July 17th 2013)
An EU statement about the directive said it is ““in conformity with the EU’s longstanding position that Israeli settlements are illegal under international law and with the non-recognition by the EU of Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied territories, irrespective of their legal status under domestic Israeli law.”
East Jerusalem includes the area of the City of David and the current excavation that has been ongoing since 1967. There King David’s palace has been found as reported by CBS News. Here is a video on the dig site from TBN.
UPDATE July 19, 2013: Egypt is on the brink of bloodshed as the stir of civil war pits Egyptian against Egyptian intensifies as The New York Times reports Crowds March in Egypt to Protest Morsi Detention
CAIRO — Thousands of people, demanding that ousted president Mohamed Morsi be returned to power, marched in several Egyptian cities on Friday, as the United Nations chief human rights official said she had pressed Egypt’s new leaders to provide details about why Mr. Morsi was being detained.
At least three people were killed during clashes between pro- and anti-Morsi protesters in the Nile Delta city of Mansoura, state news media reported.
Mr. Morsi has not been heard from since being deposed by Egypt’s military on July 3, and he has not formally been charged with any crime. The military has refused to divulge details about his detention, except to say that he is being held for the good of the country and for his own safety. Several presidential aides have also been detained.
On Friday, a spokesman for Navi Pillay, the United Nations high commissioner for human rights, said she had asked the Egyptian government to provide “information regarding the legal basis upon which the former president and his presidential team are detained.”
At the same time, Fox News reports: Israel deploys Iron Dome near Red Sea resort of Eilat
JERUSALEM (AFP) – Israel deployed its Iron Dome missile defence system near the Red Sea resort of Eilat, which is close to the border with Egypt, an army spokeswoman said.
“An Iron Dome battery was deployed this morning in Eilat,” the spokeswoman told AFP.
“The batteries are deployed in several areas of the country and moved around according to changes in the (security) situation,” she added without elaborating.
But Israeli media said the deployment was related to unrest in Egypt, where the army is waging a campaign to drive militants out of the Sinai Peninsula, which borders Eilat.
UPDATE July 18, 2013: CBS News reports: U.S. considering use of military force in Syria
“The Obama administration is deliberating whether to use military power in Syria, where a civil war entering its third year has killed almost 93,000 people, the nation’s top military officer told a Senate panel Thursday.
Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff, said during congressional testimony that he has provided President Barack Obama with options for the use of force in Syria.
Speaking about what he termed “kinetic strikes,” Dempsey added that the “issue is under deliberation inside of our agencies of government.” But he declined to provide further details, as members of the Senate Armed Services Committee pressed him for greater clarity on the strategy for ending the war and removing Syrian President Bashar Assad from power.
“The decision on whether to use force is the decision of our elected officials,” Dempsey said. “It would be inappropriate for me to try to influence the decision with me rendering an opinion in public with what type of force we should use.””
UPDATE July 11, 2013: Perhaps a British committee has been studying their Bibles and the oracle of Damascus described in Isaiah. Spy agencies fear terror groups could get chemical weapons in Syria
MI6 fears al-Qaeda groups fighting in Syria could seize the regime’s stockpile of chemical weapons with “catastrophic consequences” for the UK and the West.
“Sir John Sawers, chief of the Secret Intelligence Service, warned MPs there could be a “highly worrying proliferation” of the deadly weapons if president Bashar Assad’s regime falls.
All three spy agencies believe Syria now represents the biggest terror threat to the UK, including the risk of British jihadists travelling there and returning to attack this country.
The warnings were contained in the annual report of the parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee, which takes evidence from the spy chiefs in private.
The committee said there was “no doubt” within the UK intelligence community that Syria had chemical weapons and there as “serious concern” over its security.
They are thought to include sarin, ricin, mustard gas and VX – described as “the deadliest nerve agent ever created”.
Sir John told the committee there was the risk of “a highly worrying proliferation around the time of the regime fall”.
The committee concluded: “There has to be a significant risk that some of the country’s chemical weapons stockpile could fall into the hands of those with links to terrorism, in Syria or elsewhere in the region. If this happens, the consequences could be catastrophic.””
As noted in the July 2nd update below, the latest report from the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies reveals 36% of respondents held that Israel poses a threat to Arab security and 12% named Iran as the single biggest threat… “This figure rises to over one third for respondents in Yemen, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.”
Well today, The Telegraph reports Saudi Arabia is targeting both Israel and Iran with powerful ballistic missiles, new satellite photography shown by military experts to The Telegraph suggests:
“Images analysed by experts at IHS Jane’s Intelligence Review has revealed a hitherto undisclosed surface-to-surface missile base deep in the Saudi desert, with capabilities for hitting both countries.
Analysts who examined the photos spotted two launch pads with markings pointing north-west towards Tel Aviv and north-east towards Tehran. They are designed for Saudi Arabia’s arsenal of lorry-launched DF 3 missiles, which have a range of 1,500-2,500 miles and can carry a two-ton payload.
The base, believed to have been built within the last five years, gives an insight into Saudi strategic thinking at a time of heightened tensions in the Gulf.”
YNet reports Israel ups security on Syria border
Defense establishment deploys troops, adds barbed wire to border with Syria in order to bar refugees, terrorists from entering Israel, officials say
Published: 07.26.12, 20:27 / Israel News
“Israel bolstered security along its border with Syria on Thursday as fighting between Syrian rebels and President Bashar Assad’s regime intensified, Israeli security sources told AFP.
“The IDF is reinforcing the fence between Israel and Syria by adding more barbed wire,” one Israeli official said, indicating that it was motivated by “fears that refugees from the Syrian side could cross it.”
With the clashes spreading across the Syrian side of the border, Israeli troops were put on “very high” alert, the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.”
UPDATE July 9, 2013: Today, Israel Hayom reports Hezbollah blames Israel for Beirut bombing
“At least one person was killed and dozens of others were wounded Tuesday when a car bomb exploded in Beirut’s southern suburbs, a stronghold of the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah terror group that has been fighting in Syria’s civil war, Lebanese security sources said.
The Lebanese Red Cross said about 37 people were wounded in the Dahiya stronghold bombing. Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television reported that the car bomb exploded in a parking lot near the Islamic Cooperation Center in the Bir al-Abed area of Dahiyeh.”
The Washington Post stated:
“A bomb detonated in the parking lot of a supermarket in one of Beirut’s mostly Shiite southern suburbs Tuesday, injuring dozens of people and stirring fears that sectarian tensions unleashed by the conflict in neighboring Syria are reaching Lebanon’s capital.
The Bir al-Abed area, where the explosion occurred, is a stronghold of the Shiite Hezbollah group, Lebanon’s most powerful political and military force. The attack followed weeks of rising tensions spurred by the group’s deepening entanglement in the Syrian war, including the dispatch of fighters to aid President Bashar al-Assad.”
History cycles with the prophetic future.
Today, as in the past, the Middle East nations surrounding Israel do not follow the God of Israel. These nations walk in the path of Islam. Egypt is Sunni as is Syria which is led by an Alewite Shiite sect, Iran and Iraq are Shiite, and like iron and clay Sunni and Shiite do not mix. One key to understanding this conflict at the heart of the Muslim world is that fact that God showed Daniel this 1,200 years before Islam arrived on the world scene.
Regarding Egypt, like the famine in Joseph’s day, we must take note that the uprising in Egypt began with a modern day famine, a famine of steeply rising unemployment that is un-noticed by most but accelerating on a steep path just as it is declared in Isaiah 19:15:
“Neither shall there be [any] work for Egypt…” and just as the Word says… confusion, chaos and violence has staggered Egypt. Conflict and famine will follow, much like, if not just like, times past.
And as it has for the past 40 years, Egypt’s army is again running the country… for now.
UPDATE July 6, 2013: The Telegraph reports: Egypt: Bashar al-Assad says coup is defeat for political Islam
“Syria’s Bashar al-Assad, fighting to crush a two-year-old uprising against his rule, said the upheavel in Egypt was a defeat for political Islam.
“What is happening in Egypt is the fall of what is known as political Islam,” Mr Assad said in an interview with Syrian state newspaper Ath-Thawra, excerpts of which were posted on the internet.
“Anywhere in the world, whoever uses religion for political aims, or to benefit some and not others, will fall.
“You can’t fool all the people all the time, let alone the Egyptian people who have a civilisation that is thousands of years old, and who espouse clear, Arab nationalist thought.”
Mr. Assad said the Muslim Brotherhood’s performance had helped the people see through “lies.””
Also today, The Daily Mail reports: Egypt uprising death toll reaches 75 as new militant group arms itself and brands the military coup a ‘war against Islam’
● Newly formed Ansar al-Shariah threatened to use violence to impose Sharia law on an increasingly divided Egypt
● Coptic Christian priest shot dead by gunmen in Egypt’s lawless Northern Sinai in sectarian attack
● Khairat el-Shater, considered the most powerful man in the Muslim Brotherhood, arrested late last night
● Death toll following violent clashes that raged late into the night yesterday has risen to 36
Brings overall death toll to at least 75 over the space of a chaotic week in the now divided country
● At least 1,079 more people injured amid violence in Cairo, Alexandria and other cities across Egypt
● Ousted president Mohammed Morsi being held at Presidential Guard facility just a year after coming to power
● Judge in Egypt’s supreme court, Adly Mansour, sworn in as interim president in Cairo just hours after coup
UPDATE July 3, 2013: The Mideast has become even more destabilized.
There is the Sunni v. Alawite Shiite civil war in Syria, instability and rioting in Turkey, the ongoing potential threat of Iran’s nuclear program and now upheaval and turmoil engulfs Egypt once again on the world’s stage. There is grave implication for the Christian Copts of Egypt as radical Islamic groups have renewed their threats to the Christians in Egypt.
Violence will erupt and it may grow to replicate what we now see in Syria and Damascus as Islamists oppose the established military government forces. We could be looking at an Islamic revolution and all of this may soon point to possible earth shattering conflict of Biblical proportion directly in the middle of these nations, that is – – in Israel – – so pray for the Peace of Jerusalem!
In Egypt, we are witnessing the rise of a hard master and fierce king as the Egyptian Constitution has been suspended this week. The military led by General Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi has placed President Morsi under house arrest. Morsi is a long time leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and his followers will rise up. CNN reports on the military coup d’état as Egyptian tanks move in on the Sinai toward Gaza as Egypt’s President is put under house arrest:
“Morsy “did not achieve the goals of the people” and failed to meet the generals’ demands that he share power with his opposition.
The country’s constitution has been suspended, new parliamentary elections will be held and Adly Mansour, head of the country’s Supreme Constitutional Court, will replace Morsy, El-Sisi said.
The enthusiasm of the common Egyptian protester will be lost as Islamic radicals take leadership positions and further destabilize the country. Sectarianism and persecution will prevail and the nation moves into darkness and an eventual alignment with Iran as the Muslim Mullahs of the Salafi Movement in Egypt seek to gain control and rule of the land south of Israel.
The Salafi movement is a militant group of extremist Sunnis who believe themselves the only correct interpreters of the Koran and consider moderate Muslims to be infidels; seek to convert all Muslims and to insure that its own fundamentalist version of Islam will dominate the world.
When we read God’s word for Egypt as recorded by Isaiah 19, we can witness God’s providence is in the events of Egypt’s uprising that we have all seen on Fox News and CNN. We can also see that according to verse 17, that Egypt will come to see the land of Judah as a terror, a threat to the Egyptians. This means of course that the 1979 Egypt–Israel Peace Treaty signed following the 1978 Camp David Accords by Egyptian President Anwar El Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin may soon be annulled, most probably due to provocation from the new rule of chaos from Egypt.
Interestingly, the Egypt-Israel treaty was witnessed by then United States President, Jimmy Carter. Carter’s input into the agreement was that the U.S. would began to provide economic funding and military aid to Egypt. Each year since, U.S. funding has averaged a gift of $1.3 billion to the ancient land of the pyramids. Remember too that the agreement also mandated the demilitarization of the Sinai Peninsula.
So we must consider: if Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel is thrown into the Nile to drown, what will become of this U.S. support for the Arab land of the pyramids and our relationship with the Sunnis and their Brotherhood that will soon run the state?
UPDATE July 2, 2013: As we approach Tisha B’Av on the 16th of July this year things are really heating up as two Mideast polar personalities have Israel in the middle. Just look at the largest mass protests the world has ever seen as perhaps 30 million march in Egypt as conditions begin to look like Syria. Almost like the north and south pole of a giant magnet with a polar opposite energy emanating in invisible lines in Egypt, the Army supports the protestors, yet in Syria the Army supports the government.
I hope that this analogy makes sense to you. After all, a magnet is a piece of iron that possesses the property of attracting opposite charges and a magnetic pole can only be North or South. God’s law of magnetism provides that they are always bipolar and if a bar magnet is broken into two pieces in an attempt to separate the north and south poles, the result will be continued opposition… two bar magnets.
This should get you thinking as the U.S. adamantly wants to divide Israel. Israel is the center of the Earth as the place God chose to place His name. Conceptually, it really is a magnetic domain and as such it produces a spiritual electric current and a magnetic field, dividing is will just not work, it opposes the law of God. Can you see that the Quartet’s goal is ultimately twisted and skewed from the plan of God for The Promised Land. Just consider that the Arab world wants deeply to unite the region as an Arab super state, yet we want to divide the only democracy. The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies just announced the 2012/2013 Arab Opinion Index findings which state:
“In terms of broader Arab nationalism, 79% of the Arab public believes in the integrity of a single Arab nation, or that the various Arab peoples comprise one nation, notwithstanding the possible differences between Arab peoples. In contrast, only 14% of respondents held the view that the Arab peoples were in fact “distinct nations”. An overwhelming majority of 75% of respondents supported increased cooperation and integration between the various Arab states.
Regarding the possibility of making the concept of a single Arab nation a reality, 73% of respondents stated that Israel (52%) and the United States (21%) presented the largest threats to Arab national security. This compares with only 6% of respondents who believed that Iran was the single biggest threat to joint Arab security. A large majority of respondents (87%) were opposed to official recognition of Israel by their countries. In addition, 84% expressed opposition to the peace agreements which their countries or other Arab states have already signed with Israel.
When asked about which state posed the largest threat to the security of their specific home country, 36% of respondents held that this was Israel, while 11% believed it was the United States. Meanwhile, 12% of total respondents named Iran as the single biggest threat to their home country. This figure rises to over one third for respondents in Yemen, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.”
Meanwhile, as if nothing was happening in the supercharged, superconducting lands North or South of the Promised Land, U.S. Secretary of State Kerry says ‘real progress’ made in peace talks between Israel, Palestinians
“Kerry’s efforts said the package would likely include, as a goodwill gesture, the release of some Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. He said the Palestinians were told that Netanyahu is prepared to restrain settlement construction and to discuss the 1967 borders, without any promise to withdraw to those lines. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the matter with the media.
The emerging deal is also expected to include large amounts of international aid to the Palestinians; Israeli agreement to allow the Palestinians to launch new development projects in the West Bank; and Palestinian pledges to halt their campaign of seeking recognition of their independence in international bodies before there is a peace agreement.
Over Israeli and U.S. objections, the Palestinians last year won upgraded observer status at the United Nations, and they have threatened to pursue war crimes charges against Israel if peace efforts remain stalled.
Israel’s Channel 2 TV, citing anonymous Israeli officials, said there had been progress, but sticking points remained in the areas of settlements, prisoners and borders. It said Kerry was expected back in a week or so and was aiming to restart talks before the Muslim holiday of Ramadan begins early next week.”
And in the U.S., the fear of famine, financial famine that is drove investors away from bond funds in June. This may seem unrelated to the U.S. press for peace in the division of Israel that intensifies as we turn further from God as proven by our Supreme Count in the case of the United States v. Windsor, but this CNBC report is important as‘Unprecedented’ $80 Billion Pulled From Bond Funds
A record amount of money poured out of exchange-traded and mutual bond funds in June, according to a fresh report by TrimTabs, nearly double the amount pulled out of bond funds at the height of the financial crisis in October 2008.
Investor fears over the scaling back of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s bond purchasing program has seen the yield on 10-year Treasurys rise sharply to 2.5 percent as $80 billion left bond funds in June, according to the research.
“The herd is scrambling for the exit this month as bond yields back up across the board and central bankers hint that they might provide less monetary stimulus in the future,” TrimTabs CEO David Santschi said in a research note on Sunday. “We estimate that bond mutual funds have lost $70.8 billion in June through Thursday, June 27, while bond exchange-traded funds have lost $9.0 billion.”
And the Guardian reports that China to join Russia for largest ever joint naval drills with foreign partner
Exercises are intended to deepen co-operation between militaries, says Chinese army chief
“China will join Russia later this week for its largest-ever naval drills with a foreign partner, underscoring deepening ties between the former cold war rivals along with Beijing’s desire for closer links with regional militaries.
China has long been a key customer for Russian military hardware, but only in the last decade have their militaries begun taking part in joint exercises.
China’s defence ministry said on Tuesday that its navy would send four destroyers, two guided missile frigates and a support ship for the “Joint Sea 2013″ exercises, which start on Friday in the Sea of Japan and run until 12 July.”
UPDATE July 1, 2013: Revolutionary chaos is on the horizon again and it appears to be the rise of a hard master as Egypt’s military gives Morsi 48-hour ultimatum, threatens to intervene
CAIRO – Egypt’s military on Monday said mass protests calling for the resignation of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi were an “unprecedented” expression of the will of the people and gave the government 48 hours to meet the opposition’s demands.
In a statement read on state television just hours after the headquarters of Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood movement were ransacked, General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said if this did not happen the army would intervene.
The protesters’ main demands are that Morsi announce early elections and step down, allowing a temporary government to take over.
“If the demands of the people are not realized within the defined period, it will be incumbent upon (the armed forces)… to announce a road map for the future,” the statement said. It was followed by patriotic music.
The road map would be created by the army, which would also oversee the plan’s implementation, the statement said.
At the same time, the specter of financial famine continues to raise its ugly face in Egypt. The Egyptian Independent reports: Cash withdrawals increase amid anti-Morsy protests:
An increase in cash withdrawals has led many ATMs to run out of money, especially in the downtown area and in areas near government institutions, Al-Arabiya has reported.
Concern has escalated regarding the consequences of Sunday’s protests against President Mohamed Morsy and the Muslim Brotherhood.
A banking official told the state-owned Al-Ahram newspaper that cash withdrawals from banks had increased significantly on Thursday, to four times the normal rate.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said that banks are working normally, except those near the hot spots of Rabaa al-Adaweya, Roxy, Tahrir Square, Garden City, and Abbasseya.
Bank managers added that they have distributed more cash in ATMs in order to face increased money withdrawals, which are expected to increase even more on Sunday.
Wael Mohsen, a banking expert, told Ahram that most of the exchange companies closed three days ago, while others called on their employees to stay inside without open the building for security purposes.
Also in todays news in this headline: “Nour Party fears “ambiguous” military statement
Nour Party assistant Secretary-General Shaaban Abdel Alim has said that the statement of the armed forces released on Monday is “ambiguous,” warning against the repercussions of a return to military rule in Egypt.
“Which demands will the army meet, those of Tahrir Square or of Rabea al-Adaweya Square?” Alim wondered, referring to the main protest sites of the opposition and supporters of President Mohamed Morsy.
The Nour official said that while the opposition to the regime may seem larger in number, there are supporters who did not take part in demonstrations so as to avoid sedition.”
“The statement is stern,” Alim claimed, referring to the army announcement read out on state television which gave President Morsy a 48-hour ultimatum to pull Egypt out of the current political stalemate. “We fear the return of military rule…the deadline is not sufficient.”
June 30, 2013: As chaos is ready to erupt to the south once again and burden Egypt, it continues north of Israel in Syria. We have the report of a Catholic Priest Beheaded in Syria by Al-Qaeda linked rebels while men and children take pictures and cheer:
“Syrian Catholic priest Francois Murad killed last weekend by jihadi fighters was beheaded, according to a report by Catholic Online which is linking to video purportedly showing the brutal murder.
As The Blaze reported last week, Murad, 49, was setting up a monastery in Gassanieh, northern Syria. Last Sunday, on the Christian leader’s Sabbath, extremist militants trying to topple President Bashar Assad breached the monastery and grabbed Murad.
While earlier reports suggested Murad may have been shot to death, Catholic Online reported Saturday: “The Vatican is confirming the death by beheading of Franciscan Father, Francois Murad, who was martyred by Syrian jihadists on June 23.”
The Catholic news service quotes local sources who report that the radical Al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra, or Al-Nusra Front, was behind the savage killing.”
Peace is no where to be seen north or south of Israel.
PRAYER ALERT June 19, 2013: Iran’s election votes have been counted and the Persian state has a new President. The global press and Obama have labeled him as a moderate, The Washington Free Beacon has a different story:
“Iranian President-elect Hassan Rowhani was on the special Iranian government committee that plotted the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, according to an indictment by the Argentine government prosecutor investigating the case.
The AMIA bombing is considered the deadliest terrorist attack in Argentina’s history, killing 85 and wounding hundreds more. The Argentine government had accused the Iranian government of planning the attack and Iran’s terrorist proxy Hezbollah of carrying it out. Numerous former and current Iranian officials are wanted by Interpol in connection with the bombing.
Former Iranian intelligence official Abolghasem Mesbahi, who defected from Iran in the late 1990s, testified that the decision to launch the attack was made within a special operations committee connected to the powerful Supreme National Security Council in August 1993.
According to the 2006 indictment, Mesbahi testified that Rowhani, who was then serving as secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, was also a member of the special committee when it approved the AMIA bombing.”
PRAYER ALERT June 1, 2013: Today the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) tells us that terrorism and violence is escalating rapidly in Islam’s chasm of conflict between Shiite and Sunni nation of Iraq. The withdrawal of our troops in 2011 has had a great impact on the Muslim world which is like the legs of iron supported by a mixture of clay and iron that will not cleave together in unity. This can be seen in the interpretation of Daniel 2:33-43.
It is bizarre but we (United States) have our largest Embassy on the planet in Iraq. Actually it is in the old area of Babylon, but it seems we hardly receive any detailed reports from there, just that we condemn violence and unlawful actions. So we have to rely on the UN Casualty Figures for May: More than one thousand Iraqis killed
“Baghdad, 1 June 2013 – According to casualty figures released today by UNAMI, a total of 1,045 Iraqis were killed and another 2,397 were wounded in acts of terrorism and acts of violence in May.
The number of civilians killed was 963 (including 181 civilian police) and the number of civilians injured was 2,191 (including 359 civilian police). A further 82 members of the Iraqi Security Forces were killed and 206 were injured.
“That is a sad record,” the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General (SRSG) for Iraq, Mr. Martin Kobler, said. “Iraqi political leaders must act immediately to stop this intolerable bloodshed,” the UN envoy added.
Baghdad was the worst affected Governorate with 1,817 civilian casualties (532 killed, 1,285 injured), followed by Salahuddin, Ninewa, Anbar, Diyala and Kirkuk.
UNAMI recorded a minimum of 560 security incidents in different parts of Iraq. 178 of these incidents involved Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), which killed and injured a minimum of 886 civilians; 82 Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED) and Suicide Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (SVBIED) killed and injured a minimum of 1,435 civilians; and 243 incidents of Small Arms Fire (SAF) killed and injured a minimum of 470 civilians.”
Disclaimer: The United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq undertakes monitoring of the impact of armed violence and terrorism on Iraqi civilians in accordance with its mandate. UNAMI relies on direct investigation, along with credible secondary sources, in determining civilian casualties. UNAMI figures are conservative and may under-report the actual number of civilians killed and injured for a variety of reasons. Where different casualty figures are obtained for the same incident, the figure as verified by UNAMI is used.
This is a much bigger picture. This is about the book of Daniel. This is about prophecy. This is about Assyria. The regional conflicts including what we have witnessed in Syria and what we will soon see as Saudi Arabia becomes involved means we are reading in today’s headlines are the prophecies of Edom, Moab, Amalek and Ammon. We are watching the children of Ishmael and Hagar, even the Philistines. There is a very powerful vortex of prophetic dynamics at work, sucking and spinning toward Israel and a global Esau-Jacob conflict as the U.S./E.U. sides with Sunni and Russia/China Shiite. Many prognosticators say the Middle East is moving into a new game and we can’t know how it will end, but we can. Open you Bible.
June 16, 2012: Reporting for The Independent, Robert Fisk based out of Beirut, today released an exclusive breaking news story that Iran is sending 4,000 troops to Syria to support Assad’s troops. This is important and the storyline is much deeper as it may show that the lines are being drawn closer for the prophetic latter time goat-ram conflict described by Gabriel in Daniel 8.
I recommend that you read the FULL STORY not just the excerpt below and consider the deep implications that Mr. Fisk has shed some very serious light on. It amazes me that as events unfold, the two nuclear superpowers, the U.S. (West) and Russia (East) oppose each other within the divide of the two feet of Islam. The U.S. has now aligned with Sunni nations and Russia has aligned with the minority Shiites including Iran as well as Azerbaijan and the minority Alawite leadership of Syria. Yet the people of Syria that we now support militarily, are Sunni who oppose the small Alawite sect of Shia. And if you say, well what about Iraq, they are Shiite and we freed them, consider the implications of this headline, “Iraq, Russia ink weapons deal“.
Iran to send 4,000 troops to aid President Assad forces in Syria
Sunday 16 June 2013
“Washington’s decision to arm Syria’s Sunni Muslim rebels has plunged America into the great Sunni-Shia conflict of the Islamic Middle East, entering a struggle that now dwarfs the Arab revolutions which overthrew dictatorships across the region.
For the first time, all of America’s ‘friends’ in the region are Sunni Muslims and all of its enemies are Shiites. Breaking all President Barack Obama’s rules of disengagement, the US is now fully engaged on the side of armed groups which include the most extreme Sunni Islamist movements in the Middle East.
The Independent on Sunday has learned that a military decision has been taken in Iran – even before last week’s presidential election – to send a first contingent of 4,000 Iranian Revolutionary Guards to Syria to support President Bashar al-Assad’s forces against the largely Sunni rebellion that has cost almost 100,000 lives in just over two years. Iran is now fully committed to preserving Assad’s regime, according to pro-Iranian sources which have been deeply involved in the Islamic Republic’s security, even to the extent of proposing to open up a new ‘Syrian’ front on the Golan Heights against Israel.”
June 11, 2013: On Sunday, June 2nd Senator John McCain appeared on national television on the CBS program “Face the Nation” describe his secret trip to Syria where he said he personally met with rebels fighting against Bashar Assad’s government forces. Senator McCain continued to say as he has in the past we should get militarily involved. We have all heard him say we need to be arming the rebels.
Well, the problem is – – no one really has any idea what “rebels” he is talking about. Can we even be sure that there are any “good guys” still left in the fight and just who are they? As you can see in this post, I am convinced that intervention will have ramification of Biblical proportion because of stories just like these…
A teenager selling coffee in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo was arrested by Islamist rebel fighters for insulting the Prophet Mohammed, beaten and then executed in front of his family, a watchdog group claims.
The boy, Mohammed Qatta, 14, reportedly refused to give a customer coffee, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Sunday.
“Even if [Prophet] Mohammed comes back to life, I won’t,” the boy said, who was known by his nickname “Salmo.”
Extremist rebels driving past in a black car overheard the comment, the opposition Aleppo Media Center said. Qatta was taken away by the fighters and later brought back, his head wrapped with his shirt and his body covered with marks from whipping.
The rebels then read out the boy’s sentence – not in a Syrian accent, but in classical Arabic. They accused the boy of blasphemy and told the crowd – which included the boy’s parents – that anyone who insulted the Prophet would suffer a similar fate.
Qatta was then shot in the mouth and neck. A graphic photo was released late Sunday of the dead boy clearly showing wounds that matched the reports.
The boy’s parents confirmed the accounts in an interview posted online on Monday by the Aleppo Media Center. In it, his father stoically recounted the execution while his mother wailed.
“Why did they kill my son,” she cried. “We are not for or against anybody in this conflict, may God take revenge on them.”
The Islamists and their group have yet to be identified.”

PRAYER ALERT April 9, 2013: Do you remember this incredible Washington Times headline? McCain calls for U.S. to consider arming Syrian protesters. Well today the headlines reads like this: Al-Qaeda confirms Syria war role as US mulls new pressure. Both Iraq and Syria are listed in both the original and this subsequent news commentary on Zechariah’s Vision as two of the four “craftsmen” that have merged in nuclear threat as the axis of evil becomes connected in the chaos of Amalek from the land of Edom (see Exodus 17:16) and don’t forget Herod was an Edomite too:
“DAMASCUS (AFP) – Al-Qaeda in Iraq confirmed on Tuesday long-held suspicions that it is behind jihadists fighting in Syria, as Washington said it was mulling new ways to drive President Bashar al-Assad from power.
The mainstream rebel Free Syrian Army kept its distance from the jihadists, insisting its alliance with the key opposition fighting force was purely tactical and that its goal was a democratic Syria.
“The Al-Nusra Front is simply a branch of the Islamic State of Iraq,” the head of the Al-Qaeda in Iraq front group, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, said in a recording posted online.
Describing Al-Nusra leader Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani as “one of our soldiers,” he said the two groups would merge under the banner of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
Baghdadi’s comments came a day after an Al-Nusra-style suicide bombing in the heart of Damascus killed at least 15 people and wounded 146.
They also came after Al-Qaeda’s global chief, Ayman al-Zawahiri, urged rebels to fight to establish an Islamic state in Syria, in an audio message posted on the Internet on Sunday.”
The U.S. has been helping Japan develop missile defense systems since 2006 due to ongoing threats from the craftsmen of North Korea and now Japan, like South Korea is really getting really nervous. On South Korea, Russia Today reports: Pyongyang warns foreigners to evacuate S. Korea, threatens ‘thermonuclear’ war
“Pyongyang has issued a warning urging foreign nationals to evacuate South Korea, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported. The statement was followed by threats from North Korea of “thermonuclear” war on the Korean Peninsula.
North Korea has warned all foreign nationals to prepare to evacuate the South in the event of conflict. “We do not wish harm on foreigners in South Korea should there be a war,” Reuters quoted KCNA news agency as saying, citing the spokesperson for its Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee.
The warning was read out on North Korea’s state television: “all international organizations, businesses and tourists” were told to “work out measures for the evacuation”.
The statement was followed by renewed threats of “thermonuclear” war on the Korean Peninsula, AFP reported.
“The situation on the Korean Peninsula is inching close to a thermonuclear war,” Pyongyang’s Asia-Pacific Peace Committee stated.”
As warned in the original Zechariah’s Vision report:
Listen out there, wake up!!!! It has been 70 years since we have seen a dark and evil alliance. Yesterday, it was Germany and Japan. Today it is Iran and North Korea. Seventy years ago it was a concerted evil that began against Judah. Today, it is against Ephraim.
UPDATE April 8, 2013: Ever since the Arab Spring uprisings began, the situation for followers of Jesus Christ aka Messiah Yeshua in the Middle East and North Africa, has become more dangerous with each passing day as the specter of persecution rises. What we are seeing today speaks of many verses including 2Timothy 3:12, Deuteronomy 4:30-31 and Revelation 13:3. According to touregypt.net:
“After the invasion of the Arab Muslims around the middle of the seventh century AD, the church suffered a slow decline but around the middle of the twentieth century, it experienced an unprecedented revival. This spiritual renaissance had its start in the forties and fifties in the Coptic Sunday School movements in Cairo, Giza and Asyut. Inspired by the challenges they experienced in the Sunday School classes, young men consecrated their lives to God and joined the desert fathers. Today, many of the church leaders grew from that spirited revival. The Copts continue to have active youth groups that emphasize religious education as well as providing social interaction. Although called Sunday schools, these gatherings usually held on Fridays, are considered to be a very important religious element to all the Coptic families.”
This past weekend events in Cairo intensified. Coptic Christians under siege as mob attacks Cairo cathedral
“Hundreds of Christians were under siege inside Cairo’s Coptic cathedral last night as security forces and local residents, some armed with handguns, launched a prolonged and unprecedented attack on the seat of Egypt’s ancient Church.
At least one person was killed and at least 84 injured as Christians inside the walled St Mark’s cathedral compound came under a frenzied assault from their assailants in the main road outside.”
““Only God can save us from what is happening right now,” said Mina Zakaraya, a 25-year-old Coptic seminarian who was positioned inside the compound.”
The Guardian reported that the siege occurred during “a funeral for four Christians killed in sectarian clashes on Saturday descended into chaos.”
Strangely this event has occurred just as Fox News broke a story in the U.S. that: “A U.S. Army training instructor listed Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism as examples of religious extremism along with Al Qaeda and Hamas during a briefing with an Army Reserve unit based in Pennsylvania, Fox News has learned.”
The report went on the say: “The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism. Topping the list is Evangelical Christianity. Other organizations listed included Catholicism, Al Qaeda, Hamas, the Ku Klux Klan, Sunni Muslims, and Nation of Islam.
The military also listed “Islamophobia” as a form of religious extremism.”
Today marks the annual Holocaust memorial day and with threats of destruction coming from North Korea and Iran with Syria disintegrating Secretary of State John Kerry is focused on regurgitating the 2002 Arab Peace Plan in lieu of the Quartet planto divide Israel and give away the West Bank, the Golan Heights, East Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. Just like the ancient alliance of Ishmael and Esau, the plan is from the 22 member Arab League and the 57-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation as he lays a wreath at the Holocaust Memorial about a mile from Mount Zion and The Old City (East Jerusalem) which includes the Garden of Gethsemane, The Chapel of Ascension, The Pool of Siloam, The Western Wall as well as the tombs of King David and Zechariah. In addition, ‘Anonymous’ hackers target Israel in massive cyber attacks as they attempt the electronic destruction of Israel.
Back home in the good ‘ol USA, the Washington Times tells us the Defense Department classifies Catholics, evangelicals as extremists…
as “a U.S. Army Reserve presentation that classified Catholics and Evangelical Protestants as “extremist” religious groups alongside al Qaeda and the Ku Klux Klan.
PRAYER ALERT April 5, 2013: Today, as Vice President Biden calls for a New World Order we learn more of a linkage between Iran, North Korea and Syria as these nations plot destruction. Today, there’s more to learn of a very dark accord between these. As noted in my original commentary, I wrote of the warning from Zechariah of the “craftsmen”. The King James calls them the carpenters, other translations… blacksmiths. In Hebrew, the word used in Zechariah is “charash” it means craftsman, artisan, engraver, graver, artificer; skillful to destroy (warriors) (fig.)
The threat against Seoul and Japan now clearly extends to America though a twisted alliance of two of the craftsmen of chaos. Just before North Korea threatened the U.S. Homeland, Iran issued this threat on day 6 of the Omer Count: ‘American empire’ will collapse THIS YEAR, Iran’s supreme leader claims. It is time to consider this MUST READ: The overlooked Iran-Syria-North Korea strategic linkage
Special to WorldTribune.com By Gregory R. Copley, Global Information System/Defense & Foreign Affairs
“Events in, and linked to, the Eastern Mediterranean continued to be the strategic dynamic of global affairs during March 2013 and beyond. Even developments — seemingly moving toward war as far as Western public perceptions were concerned — on the Korean Peninsula were intrinsically a component of the events within the Eastern Mediterranean focus.
North Korea’s apparent threat of war in East Asia; the foreign-financed “civil war” in Syria; the broad strategic effects of the staggeringly myopic approach to a European Union (EU) financial restructuring plan in Cyprus; the misperceptions of a Turkey-Israel rapprochement; the underlying reversal of Western European-Russian energy and political relations (but not the dependencies); the deepening absence of U.S. influence in Eurasia: all were absolutely interconnected and interactive issues. And there are, at the time of writing, many sub-sets to this, including the great Turkish competition with Iran, which by March 2013 was reaching an interesting dimension; and the continuing deterioration of U.S.-Russian relations.
But, as ever, the discreet accord between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) were playing a truly distinct role.
Under this accord, struck between “Ayatollah” Ruhollah Khomeini and Kim Il-Sung in the 1980s, when Iran faced an existential threat, the DPRK would rattle sabers on the Korean Peninsula, distracting the U.S.; and when the DPRK faced such a threat, Iran would similarly distract the world powers. As a result, both the DPRK and Iran have become masters at a kind of brinkmanship which has had Western powers scratching their collective heads.
It is significant that, despite the bellicose rhetoric from Pyongyang, including talk of targeting U.S. cities with nuclear weapons, North Korea has not, in fact, made any real war-footing deployments of forces. The U.S., in responding to what it portrayed as a North Korean threat, had, in fact, deployed significant new force elements to South Korea, but itself showed no coherent engagement plan for a “real war”.
Still, U.S. analysts seemed to begin to understand the significance of the Iran-DPRK link when it became clear that Iran had sponsored the nuclear weapon detonation in at Punggye-ri, DPRK, on Feb. 13, and then noted the September 2012 DPRK-Iran accord, and some earlier bilateral agreements between the two states.
Even so, the fundamental nature of the deep Iran-DPRK agreement on mutual strategic distraction — learned by Kim Il-Sung from earlier Soviet doctrine — was not fully understood by U.S. analysts, largely because of the stove-piping of regional specializations within the U.S. Intelligence and policy communities.
It is, however, such a time to again invoke the strategic distraction agreement, when Iran feels that its vital interests are jeopardized by the West’s alliance with some of the major Sunni wealth of the Arabian Peninsula and Northern Tier (principally Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey) that Tehran has called the alliance into action to stop the U.S. and Sunni powers from overthrowing Syrian leader Bashar Assad and removing Iran’s control over its principal regional conduit into the West: Syria. It is not an insignificant call, either, as far as North Korea is concerned: Iran has become the principal source of economic and strategic support for the DPRK. Iran cannot be ignored when it calls for help. And the loss of Syria would be, for Iran, a decisive setback for its strategic future, and a possible consequent boost to Turkey’s, Qatar’s, and Saudi Arabia’s fortunes.
And yet the European Union (EU) powers and the U.S. view events in the Eastern Mediterranean through entirely localized prisms, seemingly unaware of the broader consequences of their actions in supporting the overthrow of Assad and sustaining the impression of Turkish strategic centrality. Disregarded are such issues as the reaction of Russia, the prospect that Cyprus may become “strategically unavailable” to the West, and so on.”

PRAYER ALERT April 3, 2013: As a fuse of the powder keg around Israel sparks the IDF responds with fire to rocket sites used by from Salafist militants in Gaza, the U.S. is moving missile defenses to Guam. Is this the tolling of the 3rd bell? It’s the evening of April 3rd but in Korea it is the 4th and AFP reports that
N. Korea approves nuclear strike on United States
By Jung Ha-Won (AFP) – 1 hour ago
SEOUL — North Korea dramatically escalated its warlike rhetoric on Thursday, warning that it had authorised plans for nuclear strikes on targets in the United States.
“The moment of explosion is approaching fast,” the North Korean military said, warning that war could break out “today or tomorrow”.
Pyongyang’s latest pronouncement came as Washington scrambled to reinforce its Pacific missile defences, preparing to send ground-based interceptors to Guam and dispatching two Aegis class destroyers to the region.
Tension was also high on the North’s heavily fortified border with South Korea, after Kim Jong-Un’s isolated regime barred South Koreans from entering a Seoul-funded joint industrial park on its side of the frontier.
In a statement published by the state KCNA news agency, the Korean People’s Army general staff warned Washington that US threats would be “smashed by… cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means”.
“The merciless operation of our revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified,” the statement said.
According to the report our response is…
“US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel earlier said Pyongyang represented a “real and clear danger” to the United States and to its allies South Korea and Japan.”
PRAYER ALERT April 1, 2013: This is no April Fool’s joke although it certainly seems like one as Ma’an News reports that Abbas, King Abdullah sign Jerusalem agreement. I warned of the future of this alliance in my original commentary on Zechariah.
“President Mahmoud Abbas and Jordan’s King Abdullah on Sunday signed an agreement to defend Jerusalem and its holy sites, Palestinian Authority media reported.
Abbas flew to Amman on Sunday for a meeting with King Abdullah at the Royal Palace, attended by the PA Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmud al-Habash and his Jordanian counterpart Muhammad Qudah.
Habash told Wafa news agency that the agreement outlined coordination for the protection of all Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The agreement confirmed Jordan’s historic role in protecting sacred sites in Jerusalem, Habash said. It also confirmed Palestinian sovereignty over all of Palestine, including its capital East Jerusalem, the minister added.
The Jordanian palace said the agreement reiterated the king’s custodial role.”
It seems that this just can’t be happening, but it is. As dozens die in terror attacks in Iraq, another head butt comes from the wild ram, Iran against the USA as Brigadier Mohammad Reza Naghdi declares ‘American empire’ will collapse THIS YEAR. There’s good reason the U.S. State Department continues its travel warnings. To top that off, the craftsmen of North Korea (DPRK) have declared war on South Korea and it seems that have targeted my home town of Austin, Texas as a “final warning” to the U.S. Many here are tweeting joke but I don’t think that we are witnessing a comedy. Potentially a nuclear war. The Democratic Peoples Democratic Republic has an army of 900,000 and who knows how many nuclear devices.

March 19,2013: U.S. official: ‘High probability’ Syria used chemical weapon (CNN)
There is a “high probability” that Syria deployed chemical weapons in the ongoing civil war, but final verification is needed, the chairman of the U.S. House Intelligence Committee told CNN on Tuesday.
“I have a high probability to believe that chemical weapons were used,” Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Michigan) told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “We need that final verification, but given everything we know over the last year and a half, I would come to the conclusion that they are either positioned for use, and ready to do that, or in fact have been used.”
Rogers and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California), chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, struck ominous tones in an interview on CNN’s “The Situation Room” about the possibility that Syria had crossed what President Barack Obama has said was a “red line” that could lead to the United States getting involved militarily in the conflict.
This Reuter’s story provides more details of the alledged chemical attack by rebel fighters against Syrian security forces in Aleppo.
The photo of a ruinous heap seen in this report on the attack from Israel National News is astounding.
Today we can’t ignore an uprising of evil in Iraq as a Wave of Iraq bombings kill at least 65 a decade after US-led invasion
“BAGHDAD – A wave of bombings tore through Iraq on Tuesday, killing 65 people on eve of the 10th anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion and showing how unstable Iraq remains more than a year after the withdrawal of American troops.
It was the deadliest day of attacks in Iraq since Sept. 9, when insurgents unleashed an onslaught of bombings and shootings across the country that left 92 dead.
Violence has ebbed sharply since the peak of Sunni-Shiite fighting that pushed the country to the brink of civil war in 2006-2007. But insurgents maintain the ability to stage high-profile attacks while sectarian and ethnic rivalries continue to tear at the fabric of national unity.”
February 9, 2013: Rebels close in on heart of Damascus
“Rebel fighters moved closer to the Syrian capital of Damascus on Friday, with fierce battles against government forces reported on the periphery of the city resulting in over 40 deaths, opposition groups said.
Syrian government forces battled on Friday to recapture sections of the Damascus ring road from rebels pressing in on the capital, opposition activists said.
War planes fired rockets around Jobar, Qaboun and Barzeh neighbourhoods, the sources said. Heavy fighting was taking place at the Hermalleh junction on the ring road just south of Jobar, which had been seized by the rebels.
Rebel fighters based in the eastern Ghouta region broke through government defensive lines on Wednesday, capturing parts of the road and entering Jobar, 2 km (one mile) from security bases in the heart of the city.
President Bashar al-Assad, struggling to contain a revolt in which 60,000 people have been killed since March 2011, has lost control of large parts of Syria but his forces, backed by air power, have so far kept rebels away from central Damascus.”
UPDATE February 6, 2013: For the past 34 years, the U.S. has been flowing about $2 billion a year to Egypt. That means we have given the people of the Nile about $68 billion so far. The only nation receiving more U.S. aid is Israel. But now, Iran has entered the picture and instead of giving money away they are offering to lend a big credit line to the cash strapped nation according to Reuters.
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the LORD shall hiss for the fly that [is] in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that [is] in the land of Assyria. And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes. In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, [namely], by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard. UPDATE December 29, 2012: Egypt fears a run on its banks as it imposes limit on amount people can withdraw
“Egypt has imposed a limit on the amount of money people can take out of the country, amid fears of an impending run on the banks.
The move to ban leaving with more than £6,000 came as thousands of Egyptians withdrew savings from banks to hoard cash at home.
Anxiety about a deepening political and economic crisis has gripped the country in past weeks, with many people rushing to buy dollars and take out their savings from banks.
As well as huge political problems, the country also has a faltering economy.
The panic came as the country’s new president, Mohammed Morsi, called for ‘unity’ after a referendum approved a controversial constitution which gave him and islamist allies more powers.”
December 28, 2012: Today a Voice of America report comes from nearby Iraq the the Sunni-Shiite conflict is spreading as protests spread through the MidEast:
“Tens of thousands of Iraqis have taken to the streets in a Sunni-dominated western province, the latest in a series of demonstrations against the country’s Shi’ite-led government.
The protesters blockaded a main highway Friday in Anbar province west of the capital, Baghdad, holding placards and chanting slogans against the government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Protests were also reported in the northern Sunni towns of Tikrit, Mosul and Samarra.”
December 25, 2012: Little did you know but the words of Matthew 24:9-10 that were recorded nearly 2,000 ago, reflect today’s horrors seen in Syria as reported by CNN:
“A report issued last week by the U.N. Commission of Inquiry on Syria focused on sectarian hostilities and referred to dangers faced by Christians. It cited a car bombing outside a bakery in Jaramana and the kidnapping of Christians in September.
Before the conflict started in March 2011, the largest Christian communities were in the Damascus, Aleppo and Homs regions, it said. But many Christians have fled their homes because of the violence.
Homs Christians have escaped to Damascus, and some have made their way to Beirut; Armenians who had been living in Syria have sought refuge in Armenia.
Syria’s Armenian Orthodox and other Christian communities “have sought protection by aligning themselves with the government, with the consequence that they have come under attack from anti-government armed groups,” the report said.”
UPDATE December 26, 2012: One day after Egypt’s election commission declared voters had approved the referendum… The Guardian reports Mohamed Morsi signs Egypt’s new constitution into law
“Egypt’s controversial new constitution has been signed into law by President Mohammed Morsi, a day after he announced it had been approved by a large majority in a referendum that his opponents claim was marked by widespread irregularities.
Critics say the new constitution, which was hurriedly drafted by Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood and its Salafist allies, is undemocratic and too Islamist, and that it could allow clerics to intervene in the lawmaking process and leave minority groups without proper legal protection.
Results of the two-part referendum, announced on Tuesday, showed that an overwhelming 63.8% of Egyptians had approved the text, paving the way for a parliamentary elections in about two months.
The result is the Islamists’ third straight electoral victory since the country’s former autocratic leader, Hosni Mubarak, was toppled last year.”
UPDATE December 25, 2012: Egypt approves constitution, election commission reports
“CAIRO – The head of Egypt’s election commission says the new constitution has passed with a 63.8 percent “yes” vote in a referendum.
According to official results announced Tuesday, 32.9 percent of voters participated.
The announcement turns the Islamist-drafted charter into the country’s first constitution after the uprising that forced Hosni Mubarak out of office after nearly 30 years of authoritarian rule.”
UPDATE December 6, 2013: Egypt crisis: Army clearing presidential palace area The BBC’s Jon Leyne reports from Cairo:
“The Egyptian army has begun to clear demonstrators and media organisations from outside the presidential palace in Cairo.
It follows violent overnight clashes between supporters and opponents of President Mohammed Morsi that left five people dead and 644 injured.”
December 11, 2012: While many believe the Biblical prophecy of the destruction of Damascus has to be from an explosive attack on Syria, ABC News files this report that matches the message given here in this post exactly 11 months ago, that Isaiah 17 describes “a heap of ruins” that will center around Damascus “in a day of grief and incurable pain”: Defector: Assad Will Use Chem. Weapons
“A former top general in Syria’s chemical weapons program says he doesn’t doubt for a moment that President Bashar al-Assad will deploy his chemical weapons arsenal as he tries to hold onto power and crush the uprising that started almost two years ago.
“The regime started to fall and deteriorate. It’s coming to its end,” said retired Major General Adnan Sillou in an interview in a hotel near Antakya, on Turkey’s southern border with Syria. “It’s highly possible that he’ll start using [chemical weapons] to kill his own people because this regime is a killer.”
Sillou told ABC News that until September 2008, he was chief of staff on the defensive side of the chemical weapons program. He said he was in charge of training soldiers against attacks and contact with the weapons, as well as procuring safety equipment to guard against them.
He listed mustard gas along with the sarin, VX and tabun nerve agents as the main elements in Syria’s chemical arsenal, whose existence Syria doesn’t even acknowledge. Foreign intelligence officials and analysts have focused on the first three as the main threats, and last week U.S. officials said there was evidence sarin had not only been moved, but its binary components, usually stored separately, had been combined and placed into bombs for use.
Sillou accuses Assad’s forces of already spraying pesticides and dropping white phosphorous, claims also made by opposition activists.
“They’re idiots, crazy. Simply they are killers,” he said.
Sillou believes the regime could step it up to more serious chemical weapons if Aleppo, Syria’s most populous city where fighting has raged for months, falls to the rebels.
In July, Sillou left Syria for Turkey almost four years after he said he retired from the military. Sillou told ABC News that in his last post, which he held for six years, he was second in command behind a man named Said Ali Khalil, a member of Assad’s ruling Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam.
After defecting, Sillou said he was debriefed by an Arabic-speaking agent from the Central Intelligence Agency in Turkey’s capital, Ankara. The meeting lasted three hours and was the last contact he said he had with them or any other intelligence agency.
Fighting is raging around the capital, Damascus, notably on the airport road where rebels are trying to take the airport to hamper outside support and deal a highly symbolic blow to the regime. The uptick in violence near the seat of Assad’s power has raised American fears that he could resort to using his chemical weapons.”
And in Washington the U.S. Formally Recognizes Syria’s Main Rebel Group
The U.S. on Tuesday formally recognized Syria’s main rebel group, paving the way for more U.S. support in pursuing an end to the rule of President Bashar al-Assad.
The announcement by U.S. President Barack Obama in a television interview, ahead of an international conference in support of Syrian rebels on Wednesday in Morocco, puts the administration on foot with European allies who are seeking to leverage a string of recent rebel successes by increasing support to the opposition.
“We’ve made a decision that the Syrian Opposition Coalition is now inclusive enough, is reflective and representative enough of the Syrian population …
December 8, 2012: Syrian Rebels Tied to Al Qaeda Play Key Role in War
“BAGHDAD — The lone Syrian rebel group with an explicit stamp of approval from Al Qaeda has become one of the uprising’s most effective fighting forces, posing a stark challenge to the United States and other countries that want to support the rebels but not Islamic extremists.
Money flows to the group, the Nusra Front, from like-minded donors abroad. Its fighters, a small minority of the rebels, have the boldness and skill to storm fortified positions and lead other battalions to capture military bases and oil fields. As their successes mount, they gather more weapons and attract more fighters.
The group is a direct offshoot of Al Qaeda in Iraq, Iraqi officials and former Iraqi insurgents say, which has contributed veteran fighters and weapons.
“This is just a simple way of returning the favor to our Syrian brothers that fought with us on the lands of Iraq,” said a veteran of Al Qaeda in Iraq, who said he helped lead the Nusra Front’s efforts in Syria.
The United States, sensing that time may be running out for Syria’s president, Bashar al-Assad, hopes to isolate the group to prevent it from inheriting Syria or fighting on after Mr. Assad’s fall to pursue its goal of an Islamic state.”

Syria loads chemical weapons into bombs; military awaits Assad’s order:
“The Syrian military is prepared to use chemical weapons against its own people and is awaiting final orders from President Bashar Assad, U.S. officials told NBC News on Wednesday.
The military has loaded the precursor chemicals for sarin, a deadly nerve gas, into aerial bombs that could be dropped onto the Syrian people from dozens of fighter-bombers, the officials said.”

PRAYER ALERT November 29, 2012: U.N. declares Palestinian status for a state.
Today, seven years since the Gaza withdrawal, as Israel Prepares for Hanukkah which begins in 9 days, the U.N. General Assembly approved a resolution that gave the non-existent Palestinian State, status as a non-member “observer state” at the United Nations. The U.N. Resolution was approved by a 2/3’s majority with a vote of 138-9 with 41 abstentions and no vetoes.
The vote today was taken exactly 65 years to the very day after the U.N. General Assembly voted to recognize the Jewish state as a Plan of Partition with Economic Union on November 29, 1947.
Bible students with an eye to the heavens should note that two years later, a full lunar eclipse fell on April 13, 1949 during the Feast of Passover and again on the first day of Tabernacles October 7, 1949. This Spring/Fall Feast Day total lunar eclipse pattern repeated in 1950 on Passover April 2, 1950 and again on Tabernacles, September 26, 1950.
Interestingly, these four lunar eclipse events were linked by “The Law of Return” (ha-shvt – Item 5710-1950) which was enacted by Israeli parliamentary legislation on July 5, 1950 providing a decree much like Cyrus the Great had done in 538 B.C. which fulfilled the word of God to Jeremiah and Daniel prayer of petition. The Law of Return enabled the legal return of “Jewish people” to the Promised Land once again.
After the 6 Day War, Israel took control of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount in June 1967 after a 2,000 year diaspora. Again during this critical time in the history of the land of Israel, a group of four Feast Day eclipses occurred. They were:
1967 April 24 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Passover.
1967 October 18 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Tabernacles.
1968 April 13 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Passover.
1968 Oct. 6 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Tabernacles.
As many have reported and commented, once again we will witness the Heavenly pattern repeat on Passover Day of April 15, 2014 and again on the Day of Tabernacles, October 8, 2014 when the moon go dark on these two Spring/Fall Feast Days of YHVH. The following year, the total eclipses will will repeat on Passover April 4, 2015 and on the first day of Tabernacles September 28, 2015 like another second witness just two years after today’s U.N. resolution. Do you see the pattern?
2014 April 15 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Passover.
2014 October 8 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Tabernacles.
2015 April 4 Total Lunar Eclipse Feast of Passover.
2015 September 28 Total Lunar Eclipse of Tabernacles.
Could the world soon see an end to the exile of Ephraim/Joseph to enter the land fulfilling the word of God to Ezekiel just as the promise that was kept for Jeremiah 40 Jubilees after Messiah’s first coming? Should we consider it important that the year of the Feast days approaching in 2015-2016 may also mark the 70th Jubilee from the year of the very 1st Jubilee in the Promised Land after the Jordan river crossing led by Joshua (Yehoshua)??
Forty is an important number for God as is 70 in the prophecies of Daniel. Jubilees are important dates on God’s Biblically appointed calendar.
Abraham arrived in the promised land 40 Jubilees after Adam. Yeshua (Jesus) arrived 40 Jubilees after Abraham. And now the 40th Jubilee after Messiah’s teaching ministry stands magnificently before us. To top it off, we are converging on the precipice of the 70th Jubilee celebration since Israel entered the covenant Promised Land some 3,500 years ago and this time frame just happens to also mark the 70th Feast of Weeks (Pentecost/Shavuot) since the U.N. declared Judah’s state leading to re-entering the land of Promise under the Law of Return.
One thing we do know for sure, history records that war and conflict raged in Israel very near the time frames of the previous Feast Day eclipses. Is that too on the horizon?
November 28, 2012: The BBC reports on Syria conflict: Twin bomb blasts shake Damascus suburb
“At least 34 people are reported to have been killed and many injured by two car bomb explosions in a south-eastern district of Syria’s capital, Damascus.
State media said “terrorists” were behind the blasts in Jaramana and broadcast pictures showing several charred vehicles and damaged buildings.
The district is predominantly Druze and Christian, two communities which have so far not joined the uprising.
Earlier, there were clashes between security forces and rebels in Jaramana.
There has been fierce fighting in recent days in eastern parts of the countryside around Damascus, known as the Ghouta.”
UPDATE November 23, 2012: Interestingly, today NASA reported the second large CME explosion on the Sun this week as a riot fire engulfed the Alexandria, Egypt headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood while riots shook the Egypt one month after Alexandria experienced shaking from a rare 5.2 earthquake. Egypt’s president, Mohamed Morsi shows himself as a “hard master” with a desire for fierce rule as armored tanks once again roll into Tahir Square in Cairo. Egyptian protests broke out just two days after Morsi brokered an Israeli-Hamas ceasefire in Gaza a day after another massive CME explosion:
Critics accuse Egypt president of trying to become ‘new pharaoh’ with decree. This article from Voice of America reports:
“Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has caused controversy by putting himself above oversight and protecting Islamist lawmakers who support him.
President Morsi Thursday declared that his decisions cannot be appealed by the courts or any other authority, citing a need to “protect the revolution.”
The decree announced by his spokesman also bars Egypt’s judiciary from dissolving the upper house of parliament and an assembly drafting a new constitution – two bodies dominated by Morsi’s Islamist allies.”
A Wall Street Journal report states:
“Several prominent Egyptian liberal political leaders, including some who ran in this year’s presidential election, met in Cairo on Thursday, with most expressing their shock at Mr. Morsi’s moves.
“Morsi today usurped all state powers and appointed himself Egypt’s new pharaoh. A major blow to the revolution that could have dire consequences,” wrote Mohamed ElBaradei, a former candidate and former head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, on his official Twitter account.”
“Ahmed Maher, head of one of the main revolutionary factions known as the April 6 Movement, called the decrees “the start of a new era of dictatorship.”
Analysts said the decrees could fuel further unrest.
“This is dangerous and destabilizing,” said Michael Hanna, a Middle East expert with the Century Foundation think tank in New York. “It will increase polarization and set a really damaging precedent.””
It seems that Jeremiah speaks of this day…
“Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, [and] there is nothing too hard for thee: Thou showest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, [is] his name, Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes [are] open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, [even] unto this day, and in Israel, and among [other] men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day.” Jeremiah 32:17-20
UPDATE November 21, 2012: As Americans are busy shopping for a turkey to roast in the oven, Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdoğan calls Israel “a terrorist state” as rocket # 1,408 is fired by the terrorist group Hamas from Gaza this week. This is REALLY scary as he speaks like a dragon when he says: “Israel is a terror state and its acts are terrorist acts”. Almighty God says Israel is His promised land. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
Yet there are things to be thankful for as a Gaza cease fire is announced in a joint news conference with Hillary Clinton and Mohamed Kamel Amr of Egypt.
And we can be thankful for this: Can you imagine this statement just 60 years ago? Germany’s Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle had this to say Tuesday during a meeting in Israel with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu:
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle answered, “I’m here to underline that Germany stands by our friends in Israel, and Israel has every right to defend itself and protect their own citizens against these missile attacks from Gaza into your country, Prime Minister. Of course we now have to consider and discuss how a cease-fire is possible. But there is one key condition for everything else, and that is the stop of the missile attacks against Israel.
“This is a clear message,” he added, “not only of the German Government but this is also the message what the European Foreign Minister yesterday sent out. We will do our best and we welcome what you just mentioned, that you seek and work on a diplomatic solution, there’s something with which we 100% agree. But now, of course it’s also important to see that Egypt plays a key role. Germany is ready to help and to support and we will do our best in the interest of our friends in Israel.”
Islamic Jihad official says his missiles are Iranian-made – Ziad Nakhaleh says Fajr-3 and Fajr-5 rockets have ‘returned the pride to the Palestinian people’. Perhaps Ziad is a buddy of Recep. I fear that perhaps Amos 7:16-17 speaks of the fate of men like these.
Update October 19, 2012: Lebanon on edge after anti-Syrian intel official killed by Beirut car bomb
“Beirut, Lebanon (CNN) — Tensions were high Friday night around Lebanon, hours after a top Lebanese intelligence official known for his anti-Syrian stance and at least two others were killed in a massive explosion in normally peaceful neighborhood of Beirut.
Gunfire erupted in the capital and enraged citizens blocked roads after the blast, which left Brig. Gen. Wissam al-Hassan dead and heightened fears that Syria’s civil war could boil over into neighboring Lebanon. In Sidon, people shouted, blocked city streets and burned tires in protest, according to CNN iReporter Ernesto Altamirano.
The friction turned to violence in other spots, including clashes in the seaside Lebanese city of Tripoli between supporters and foes of Syria’s government.”
“Al-Hassan, the chief of the Internal Security Forces Information Branch, was a powerful Sunni Muslim figure aligned with a political movement that emerged after Rafik Hariri’s assassination and opposes Syria’s government under al-Assad. He was also leading an investigation into a Lebanese politician accused of working with two Syrian officials to plan attacks inside Lebanon.”
Update October 17, 2012: As the battles continue, an amateur video shows the explosive downing of a Syrian helicopter today as fire falls from the sky:
Meanwhile, this report comes from Istanbul:
“Turkey’s government has put its military into a “high state of readiness” over simmering tensions along the border with Syria amid a continuing visit by the country’s top soldier to inspect troops massed along the frontier.
“We want to give a strong message to the Syrian regime that Turkey is determined to protect its borders and people and is ready to do whatever necessary – that is the meaning of high-level readiness,” a high-ranking official said.”
And according to the Anatolia News Agency, its not just the Syrian border that is seeing a Turkish troop buildup:
“New military outposts were introduced yesterday along the Turkey-Iran border by the governor of the eastern province of Van.
Some 37 of 43 outposts stationed along the 285 kilometer-long border Turkey shares with Iran have been re-built by the state-run Housing Development Administration (TOKİ) since 2010.
The outposts have been built closer to the border compared to their previous locations in order to better monitor and fight against terrorist activities and smuggling, according to the report.”
Hurriyet Daily News also reports that: Russia to target Turkey with anti-aircraft missiles
“Russia has begun installing a new state-of-the-art anti-aircraft weapon system in its southern military region with an eye toward targeting Turkey in response to a NATO missile defense shield outpost that was recently established in East Anatolia, daily Hürriyet reported.
The installation will be completed by the end of this year, said Russian Col. Igor Gorbul, adding that the S-400 anti-aircraft missiles were capable of destroying all types of airplanes, as well as ultra-stratospheric and ballistic missiles.
Turkish-Russian tensions rose last week after Ankara forced down a Syrian passenger plane en route from Moscow to Damascus on suspicions that it was carrying weapons, but Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov moved to defuse tensions by saying the country’s bilateral relationship would not be damaged by the incident.”
“As tensions between Tehran, Washington and Tel Aviv continue to mount over Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons technologies, the U.S. has quietly begun a deployment of its premier stealthy fighter, the twin-engine F-22, to the United Arab Emirates.
Multiple Lockheed Martin aircraft will operate out of Al Dhafra Air Base there, industry sources say. This is the same base from which U.S. U-2s and Global Hawk UAVs have been launched since shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.”
Interestingly, nuclear talks with Iran will resume on May 23, 2012 in Baghdad, Iraq which is just 25 miles north of ancient Babylon. Babylon was capital of the Babylonian empire that ruled the world from 612 BC to 539 BC and home to the “Tower of Babel” (see Genesis 11:1-8).
Today, the largest U.S. Embassy in the world stands there on the site of the ancient royal palace built by Nebuchadnezzar where God pronounced judgment on the Babylonian Empire with the handwriting on the wall מנא מנא תקל וּפַרְסִֽין that none of the wise men of the King could decipher as described in Daniel 5 just before the Medes and the Persians attacked.
PRAYER ALERT April 13, 2012: Is a Global Genocide Against Christians Underway? CNN News reports:
JERUSALEM, Israel — While Saudi Arabia is one of the worst persecutors of Christians in the Middle East, it is a problem that’s getting worse throughout the region.
Since 2003, Islamic radicals have bombed 70 churches in Iraq alone. And that’s only the beginning.
“We’re seeing a very vicious attack on Christians in a number of countries. In fact, in many places in Iraq we’re seeing a religious cleansing,” Nina Shea, director of the Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom, told CBN News.
“That’s a euphemism. It means that Christians are being killed and driven out,” she said.
Shea said the phenomenon has affected the two largest Christian populations in the Middle East.
“About two thirds of the Christians in Iraq have already left,” Shea said. “In Egypt, we’re just beginning to see those with green cards, those with visas are fleeing. Those who can leave are leaving.”
PRAYER ALERT March 28, 2012: Zechariah 14:2 “And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem…”
“JERUSALEM, Israel — On Friday, organizers of the Global March to Jerusalem hope to further their goal of liberating Jerusalem from the “illegal Zionist occupation.” It’s a concept they apply to all of “occupied Palestine.”
The group chose March 30 to coincide with Palestinian “Land Day” and predicts “massive marches” at Israel’s northern and southern borders, the “West Bank” (Israel’s biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria) and the Gaza Strip.”
“Rising Muslim populations in Europe and the U.S. equate Zionism with oppression and promote the theory that the Jewish people are the interlopers and have no legitimate claim to Israel or Jerusalem.
Iran is actively promoting the event, the Israeli-based Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center reported earlier this month. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Iran should support all movements and groups operating against Jerusalem.”
Spiritually, the march “against” Jerusalem just one week before Passover is deeply related to the grand mufti’s demand that all churches in the Middle East be destroyed. Times are prophetic and perilous.
“I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.” Zechariah 12:2-3
(CNSNews.com) – “A call by Saudi Arabia’s top religious authority for a demolition of all churches in the Arabian Peninsula has prompted an organization representing Filipino workers in the region to advise caution and discretion.”
“Churches are outlawed in Saudi Arabia, but other Arab Gulf states do tolerate a limited number of non-Islamic places of worship, for mostly foreign Christians and small groups of local believers.”
“On March 12, the Saudi grand mufti, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, told a visiting Kuwaiti delegation that all churches in the Arabian Peninsula should be destroyed. He cited Mohammed as having said on his deathbed – according to a hadith – “There are not to be two religions in the [Arabian] Peninsula.””
PRAYER ALERT March 16, 2012: Just as The Telegraph reports that a British High Court will hear the government’s presentation that employers can ban wearing a cross by Christians at work in the UK the Grand Mufti Announces “Destruction of All Churches” in Arabian Peninsula; Christians Enraged
“Saudi Arabia’s highest religious official announced Monday that Christianity will not be tolerated in the Arabian Peninsula, proclaiming it “necessary to destroy all the churches of the region,” Bikyamasar reported.
Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, the grand mufti, based his statement on the Islamic belief which states that only Islam and no other religion should be followed in the region. The mufti’s declaration was in response to Kuwait’s call for a ban on construction of non-Muslim places of worship, the report said.
The mufti further added that the move should be followed by the Kuwaiti government as well, given that the country is a part of the peninsular region.”
Daniel’s prophecy is engaging right before our eyes and no one seems to be looking. Those that remain silent must be deaf as those that publically follow Messiah Yeshua face extinction in the Arabian Peninsula, the lands of Sheba and Dedan!! Yet we ignore this and continue our oil and gas trade as the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof” (see Ezekiel 38:13).
Not only is the Bible true, it has an urgent message if you’ll just hear it because the Bible is in today’s news!!
“I kept looking, and that horn was waging war with the saints and overpowering them.” Daniel 7:21
The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia is the most senior Muslim religious and legal authority in Saudi Arabia. The Grand Mufti is appointed by the King under the legal system of Saudi Arabia which is based on Sharia Islamic law of the Qu’ran and the Sunnah (traditions) of prophet Muhammad which are declared to be the Saudi Arabia’s constitution. Criminal punishments include public beheading, stoning, amputation, torture, lashing, flogging and imprisonment. Apostacy is listed as a serious criminal offence along with witchcraft and sorcery. In addition to the regular police, Saudi Arabia has a secret police, the Mabahith, and their “religious” police, the Mutawa who will probably be asked to help enforce the fatwa in the region.
Next to the land of the Grand Mufti sits The Promised Land – Israel. Please accept this call to all prayer warriors as rockets continue to rain on tiny Israel from Gaza as fire comes down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men!
According to an Israel Defense Force spokesperson:
This map shows the rocket’s range as to the population of southern Israel, and how much time people have to take cover given the distance the rockets travel. Those living in the 10 kilometer range have 15 seconds to find safety once the alarm sounds, those in the 20 km range have 30 seconds, 30 km – 45 seconds, and 40 km have a minute. With the increased range of the rocket fire from Gaza, nearly 1 million people, or a seventh of Israel’s population live in danger under threat from Hamas rocket attacks. The goal of operation “Cast Lead” has been to reduce the number of rocket attacks against the inhabitants of southern Israel.
Population Figures (numbers from 2007):
Ashkelon – 108,900
Ashdod – 207,000
Yavne – 32,200
Gadera – 17,700
Kiryat Malachi – 19,600
